Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jeffe Zampietre! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eleandor Stubbs! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stubbs shoots in but Zampietre avoids the takedown attempt easily. No luck for Stubbs with that takedown attempt. Zampietre shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Stubbs napping and manages to drive through into side control! Zampietre throws a strike aimed at the side of Stubbs's head but Stubbs avoids it well. Stubbs is looking to regain half guard here but Zampietre keeps moving and retains side control. Zampietre is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Stubbs is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Stubbs tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Stubbs fails with an attempt to clinch.
Stubbs has his takedown stuffed and Zampietre counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Stubbs! Jeffe Zampietre has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eleandor Stubbs. Stubbs tries to reverse the position but Zampietre maintains control. Zampietre goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Stubbs is on top in guard.
Stubbs looking to sit in guard and control but Zampietre gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stubbs wants to sweep here but Zampietre controlling him for the moment. Stubbs manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Stubbs trying to control but Zampietre is having none of it. Stubbs controlling his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Stubbs avoids the attempt from Zampietre to control. Zampietre is looking to improve his position but Stubbs isn't that keen on the idea. Stubbs fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Stubbs throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jeffe Zampietre dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Stubbs fails with the takedown and Zampietre counters with a nice double leg into side control. Stubbs won't be happy with that. Zampietre looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Stubbs gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Zampietre seems to be working for a kimura but Stubbs defends the submission attempt. Stubbs trying to control but Zampietre postures up.
Zampietre wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stubbs keeps working.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stubbs is looking to escape. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Zampietre is thwarting Stubbs's attempts to control the position. Stubbs is looking to escape.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Stubbs throws a sloppy head kick and Zampietre decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Stubbs's guard. Stubbs working a defensive guard here.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Stubbs tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Zampietre decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Stubbs's guard.

Zampietre being controlled here momentarily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Stubbs manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Stubbs tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment. Stubbs unloads with some shots from mount but Zampietre bucks and avoids them well.

Jeffe Zampietre dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Stubbs tries to clinch up so Zampietre counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Zampietre trying to control the position from guard on top but Stubbs is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Stubbs escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Zampietre gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Zampietre landing with the ground and pound. Stubbs is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zampietre working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Stubbs trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Stubbs not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Zampietre has his takedown stuffed and Stubbs counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Stubbs. Stubbs would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Stubbs trying to control but Zampietre is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stubbs wants to get up but he can't break Zampietre's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Stubbs looking to sit in guard and control but Zampietre gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Stubbs controlling the position. Stubbs kicks Zampietre off and gets to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stubbs tries for a takedown but Zampietre circles away easily and Zampietre counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Stubbs! Stubbs tries to hold on but Zampietre postures up. Zampietre scores with a couple of good head shots there.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Stubbs tries to lock up and control but Zampietre gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Despite being in the dominant position, Eleandor Stubbs just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Stubbs displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Stubbs tries to clinch and Zampietre counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Stubbs! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Stubbs is in all sorts of trouble here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Stubbs wants to hold on but Zampietre pushes him away. Zampietre is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Stubbs has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Stubbs! Eleandor Stubbs has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jeffe Zampietre is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Stubbs connects with a couple of short punches.
And that's the end of the fight! Jeffe Zampietre showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Zampietre, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
