Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kevin Dos Santos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ben Ritchie! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dos Santos drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ritchie tries to escape but Dos Santos is in control. Dos Santos is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ritchie is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Ritchie is trying to control Dos Santos's posture but Dos Santos avoids it. Dos Santos thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Ritchie is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Dos Santos asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Ritchie is trying to improve his position. Dos Santos wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ritchie, who protects the arm well. Ritchie manages to work his way to half guard, despite Dos Santos's best efforts. Dos Santos is working for a submission of some sort.
Dos Santos really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Dos Santos is breathing heavily. Ritchie gets full guard.

Dos Santos postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Ritchie is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Dos Santos, into his guard. Ritchie slips nicely into half guard. Ritchie is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Dos Santos defends it well. Ritchie trying to control the action but Dos Santos is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ritchie perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. It looks like Ritchie is going to stand back up.

Dos Santos is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ritchie's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ritchie's back! Ritchie is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Dos Santos gets his way!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ritchie just trying to survive but Dos Santos is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Ritchie tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Ritchie wants to control but Dos Santos is having none of it. Dos Santos goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Ritchie turns into him and now he's in Dos Santos's guard.
Ritchie decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Dos Santos, up you get! Dos Santos shoots for a double leg takedown but Ritchie sprawls well. He's pushed Dos Santos's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Ritchie scores a takedown into full mount! Ritchie controlling from mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Ben Ritchie will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Ritchie forces Dos Santos back against the cage and clinches. Dos Santos is pressed up against the cage. Ritchie has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Dos Santos down to the mat. Dos Santos avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Dos Santos doesn't succeed with the takedown and Ritchie moves into the clinch. Dos Santos manages to break the clinch.
Ritchie shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Ritchie showed some decent athleticism there. Dos Santos is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ritchie pulls his head out easily. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Dos Santos looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Ritchie scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ritchie decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Ritchie misses with the combination.

Ritchie feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Dos Santos working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ritchie doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ritchie manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Dos Santos wants to sweep but no luck. Ritchie forces his way into half guard. Ritchie is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Dos Santos defends it well. Dos Santos looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dos Santos is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Ritchie pulls his head out easily. Ritchie controlling the pace. Dos Santos actively working from the bottom here. Ritchie tries to stand but can't do so whilst Dos Santos controls his leg. Dos Santos is staying active underneath Ritchie, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Dos Santos looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Ritchie closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Ritchie is pressing down on Dos Santos's thigh, looking to free his foot. Dos Santos is holding on for now. Ritchie is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Dos Santos is staying active underneath Ritchie, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Dos Santos looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Dos Santos looking for submissions off his back. Ritchie passes to side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ritchie has hold of Dos Santos's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Dos Santos seems comfortable defending it but Ritchie has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Dos Santos is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Dos Santos is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Ritchie couldn't care less - he's delighted!
