PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Uni Haselcase (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeffe Zampietre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Uni Haselcase!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jeffe Zampietre!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Alec Ball and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zampietre throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Haselcase shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Haselcase looking to pass the guard.
Zampietre looking to control.
Haselcase stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Zampietre swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Zampietre pushes Haselcase off and gets back to his feet.
Haselcase shoots in looking for a takedown. Zampietre tries to sprawl out of it but Haselcase keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Zampietre manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Haselcase changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Zampietre tries to avoid it but Haselcase manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Zampietre to the ground. Zampietre escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Haselcase feints and as Zampietre raises his hands in defense, Haselcase changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Haselcase trying to control but Zampietre is working from the bottom.
Haselcase will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Haselcase drops back looking for a leg! Zampietre is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Zampietre manages to kick Haselcase off! Haselcase jumps back into Zampietre's guard.
Zampietre is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Zampietre keeping moving, preventing Haselcase from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Zampietre is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Haselcase trying to control but Zampietre is working from the bottom.
Haselcase is really struggling to control Zampietre but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Haselcase swings for the body but Zampietre moves out of range.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Zampietre stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Uni Haselcase. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Zampietre scores with a takedown into Haselcase's guard.

Haselcase escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Zampietre gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Uni Haselcase will probably get the nod.
That's time! Haselcase's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Haselcase has his takedown stuffed

and Zampietre counters with a shoot takedown. Haselcase fights it but they end up in guard.
Zampietre trying to control but Haselcase is working from the bottom.

Zampietre wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Haselcase's closed guard. He's half up but Haselcase has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Haselcase pivots and extends the arm, Zampietre falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Haselcase! Well done that man!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:02 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Uni Haselcase!
