Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jason Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnson Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jason Miller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Johnson Thomas!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas circles away from the clinch attempt.
Thomas looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Miller is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Miller misses with a head kick.
Miller tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Miller wants to clinch.
Miller tries to clinch but Thomas is having none of it.

Miller tries to close the distance and clinch but Thomas swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Thomas throws a lazy right hand but Miller sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Miller gets caught flat footed, as Thomas shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Thomas takes the fight into the clinch.
Thomas tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Miller smiles and moves away.

Thomas shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Miller is trying to defend but Thomas finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Thomas is pressing down on Miller's thigh, looking to free his foot. Miller is holding on for now.

Thomas wants to work for an arm triangle but Miller is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Miller really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Thomas thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Thomas perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Thomas wants to lay and pray for a moment but Miller keeps working.

Thomas wants to pass to mount but Miller is defending the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Miller pushes Thomas off looking to stand but Thomas dives back in and keeps control.

Thomas is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Miller is just riding it out for now. Thomas eventually gives up the hold.

Johnson Thomas has got the better of the ground game so far.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Thomas wants to lay and pray for a moment but Miller keeps working.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnson Thomas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Miller tries to clinch

Thomas tries to pass to full mount but Miller defends it.
Thomas scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Thomas looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Thomas prevents Miller from standing back up.
Thomas keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Thomas working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Thomas looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Miller with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Despite being in the dominant position, Johnson Thomas just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Miller tries to close the distance and clinch up but Thomas swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Thomas decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Miller stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Miller wants it to stay on the feet.
Miller throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Miller swats away the attempt to clinch by Thomas.

Thomas jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Miller walks away with a smile on his face. Thomas gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Thomas shoots in but Miller avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Jason Miller has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnson Thomas.

Thomas stands and steps away. Miller gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Miller keeps control of Thomas as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

A frustrated look appears on Thomas's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Thomas has Miller pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Miller manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
