Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, George St Sharpe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alexander Decker! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Ian Loll and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Decker lands a jab-cross combination. Decker shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. St Sharpe defends it nicely. Decker tries to land a leg kick but St Sharpe saw it coming and moves away.
St Sharpe throws a head kick that misses. St Sharpe clinches with his opponent.
St Sharpe breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
St Sharpe stuffs the takedown. Decker closes the distance but St Sharpe moves to the side and St Sharpe counters by moving into the clinch. St Sharpe breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Decker blocks a head kick by St Sharpe.
St Sharpe gets a clinch. St Sharpe jumps guard and drags Decker to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. St Sharpe might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. St Sharpe is looking to stand up but Decker isn't so interested in that idea. Decker passes St Sharpe's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. St Sharpe pushes Decker off looking to stand but Decker dives back in and keeps control.
Decker trying to control from half guard but St Sharpe is working away. Decker tries to pass to full mount but St Sharpe defends it. St Sharpe controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Decker seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
St Sharpe preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Decker is keen to just control but St Sharpe is a slippery customer. St Sharpe holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Decker seems to be looking for submissions.
Decker missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. St Sharpe is looking to improve his position.
St Sharpe makes his way to full guard. A much better position for St Sharpe. St Sharpe is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Decker rolls with it to try and escape but St Sharpe cranks on the arm and Decker is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
