Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Niko Soldo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fedor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Emelianenko has chosen Enae Volare Mezzo as his entrance music. Fedor Emelianenko acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Niko Soldo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fedor Emelianenko! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Soldo throws a head kick that Emelianenko semi-blocks.
The fight stays on the outside here - Soldo looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Emelianenko shoots in for a takedown but Soldo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Soldo connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Soldo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Emelianenko paws at him with a jab and circles away. Emelianenko shoots in but no luck this time. Soldo tries to clinch but Emelianenko is having none of it. Soldo pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Soldo lands with a slapping head kick. Emelianenko throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Soldo was covering up waiting for the punch and Emelianenko finishes the takedown easily into guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Soldo is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Emelianenko is controlling him. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Emelianenko passes easily into side control. Nice work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Soldo is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Emelianenko is controlling him well. Emelianenko is trying to get an arm triangle but Soldo is defending well. Emelianenko is trying to get an arm triangle but Soldo is defending well. Emelianenko looks gassed! Emelianenko is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Soldo has escaped the position, nice work there. Emelianenko tries to move to mount but Soldo blocks the move with his legs. Soldo is trying to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Emelianenko looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Emelianenko is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Soldo has escaped the position, nice work there. Emelianenko working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Emelianenko takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Soldo tries to clinch there but Emelianenko circles away.
Emelianenko shoots in for a takedown but Soldo shows good takedown defense. Niko Soldo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fedor Emelianenko. Soldo tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Soldo displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Emelianenko has eaten all the pies! A right-left combo lands from Soldo. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Soldo goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Emelianenko has a takedown stuffed. Emelianenko avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Soldo throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Emelianenko looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Soldo - that will leave a mark!
Niko Soldo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Soldo throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Emelianenko. Soldo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Emelianenko swats him away and circles back towards the center. Soldo lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Soldo lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Soldo stalks Emelianenko and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Emelianenko's face. Emelianenko staggers backwards, shaken. Soldo feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Emelianenko's calf. Emelianenko showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Soldo.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Niko Soldo dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Emelianenko closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Emelianenko is trying to get an arm triangle but Soldo is defending well. Emelianenko thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Emelianenko wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Soldo, who protects the arm well. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Soldo wants to get back to his feet but Emelianenko drags him back down. Soldo is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
That's one minute gone in the round. Emelianenko tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Soldo is pushing Emelianenko's head away, looking to escape. Emelianenko manages to hold on to the position though. Emelianenko has hold of Soldo's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Soldo seems comfortable defending it but Emelianenko has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Soldo is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Soldo is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Emelianenko couldn't care less - he's delighted!
