Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Brannon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Chris Hegarty! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Donald Grub and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brannon shoots in looking for a takedown. Hegarty tries to sprawl out of it but Brannon keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hegarty manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Hegarty shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Brannon counters with a nice double leg into guard. Brannon avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Brannon thows a big elbow that misses. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brannon preventing the sweep. Brannon makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Brannon scoring with some ground and pound. Brannon drops back looking for a leg! Hegarty is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hegarty manages to kick Brannon off! Brannon jumps back into Hegarty's guard. Hegarty tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hegarty trying to strike off his back.
Brannon throws a strike but Hegarty rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Brannon looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Brannon on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Brannon tries to get out of the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hegarty trying to control the position from guard on top but Brannon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hegarty might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Brannon kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Brannon will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Hegarty throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Brannon works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Brannon utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Hegarty avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Brannon wants to stand and escape but Hegarty is having none of it.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Hegarty shoots in and drives through. Brannon sprawls well. Hegarty looks gassed! Hegarty lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Brannon defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Hegarty. Jack Brannon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Hegarty. Brannon tries for a takedown but Hegarty sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hegarty doesn't manage to clinch there - Brannon circles away.
Hegarty throws a sloppy head kick and Brannon moves out of range easily. Brannon gets a takedown into half guard. Brannon is looking for a kimura but Hegarty is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Brannon to get the leverage. Hegarty trying to control from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Hegarty displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Brannon. Brannon throws a leg kick but Hegarty sees it coming and checks it nicely. Brannon misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hegarty.
Hegarty clinches. Hegarty drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Brannon gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Brannon pulls guard effortlessly. Hegarty trying to control the position from guard on top but Brannon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Brannon has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hegarty can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Hegarty trying to control but Brannon is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jack Brannon dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Hegarty tries to keep at a distance but Brannon has taken the fight into the clinch. Hegarty tries to break the clinch but Brannon is controlling the position. Brannon manages to break the clinch.
Brannon loads up on a big right hand but Hegarty slips the punch. Hegarty keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hegarty looks to clinch and Brannon counters with a shoot takedown. Hegarty fights it but they end up in guard. Hegarty throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Brannon throwing strikes from guard but Hegarty blocks nicely. Brannon has gone for a leg lock! Hegarty slips out almost immediately though and dives into Brannon's guard. Hegarty is looking to stand up but Brannon won't let him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hegarty drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Brannon dives on top into guard. Hegarty throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Hegarty has momentary wrist control but Brannon slips an elbow through the middle. Hegarty is trying to hold Brannon in close to prevent damage but Brannon has managed to pass into half guard.

Brannon is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hegarty sees it coming and defends easily. Hegarty on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Hegarty pushes Brannon off looking to stand but Brannon dives back in and keeps control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brannon decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Jack Brannon is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Hegarty closes the distance and clinches. Brannon works on Hegarty's body with a couple of short punches. The referee is keeping an eye on Brannon - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Brannon stops Hegarty from getting back to his feet.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Brannon closes the distance looking to clinch and Hegarty counters with a series of strikes. Brannon will be more careful next time no doubt. Brannon scores with a nice right hand.

Brannon lands a shoulder strike. Brannon is leaning against Hegarty and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Brannon tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Hegarty avoids it. Hegarty tries for a takedown. No joy.

That's one minute gone in the round. Hegarty postures up in Brannon's guard and throws a big left but Brannon blocks it. Hegarty postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Brannon had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hegarty defends it easily. Hegarty has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Brannon is proving hard to escape from. Brannon keeping moving, preventing Hegarty from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Brannon escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hegarty gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hegarty's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Brannon keeping moving, preventing Hegarty from controlling successfully. Brannon throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Brannon is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hegarty is aware though and is defending well. Hegarty trying to control the position from guard on top but Brannon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hegarty trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Hegarty throws a strike but Brannon rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Hegarty is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Brannon is controlling him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Brannon drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Brannon jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Hegarty looking to control.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Brannon cracks Hegarty with a good jab. A nice combination there by Brannon.
Brannon throws a hook but Hegarty avoids it easily. A slapping body kick lands there for Hegarty. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Brannon looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Hegarty avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Brannon.
And that's the end of the fight! Jack Brannon showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Brannon, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
