Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Reece Edward Duenas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ukkonen Vasara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Duenas comes to the cage accompanied by California Gurls. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Reece Edward Duenas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ukkonen Vasara!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Duenas throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Vasara was covering up waiting for the punch and Duenas finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Vasara is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vasara has Duenas pulled in close to control his posture.
Vasara wants to sweep here but Duenas controlling him for the moment.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Duenas connects with a nice short shot to Vasara's temple.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Duenas here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Duenas's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Duenas has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
