Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Grigoriy Rasputin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ivan Ivanovich! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Kenichi Hosakawa and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ivanovich misses with a double jab.
Ivanovich has managed to clinch.
Rasputin turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Rasputin is trying to get an arm triangle but Ivanovich is defending well. Ivanovich is looking for a sweep. Rasputin is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ivanovich knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Rasputin thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Rasputin is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Ivanovich has escaped the position, nice work there. Rasputin tries for a kimura but Ivanovich is defending well. Rasputin is looking for a kimura. He might have it! That's one minute gone in the round. Ivanovich throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.
Rasputin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rasputin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Ivanovich tries to strike from the bottom but misses. Ivanovich throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land. Ivanovich gets back to half guard. Ivanovich is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rasputin pulls his head out easily. Ivanovich looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Rasputin is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Ivanovich sees it coming and defends easily. Ivanovich gets full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Ivanovich will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Rasputin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ivanovich swivels though and keeps the full guard. Ivanovich is looking to sinch up a triangle. Rasputin throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Ivanovich's body to avoid the submission. Ivanovich has instead reached around Rasputin's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Ivanovich arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Ivan Ivanovich!
