Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hagar Quinn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Slava Zhigulin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hagar Quinn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Slava Zhigulin!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Quinn has taken the fight to the clinch.
Zhigulin tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Zhigulin keeps control of Quinn as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Quinn pulls Zhigulin into guard.
Zhigulin throwing strikes but missing.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Quinn has Zhigulin pulled in close to control his posture.
Quinn keeping moving, preventing Zhigulin from controlling successfully.
Zhigulin throwing strikes from guard but Quinn blocks nicely.
Zhigulin wants to control from the top but Quinn keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Quinn wants to sweep here but Zhigulin controlling him for the moment.
Quinn utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Zhigulin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Quinn has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Zhigulin has managed to get both his arms back between Quinn's legs - danger averted.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Zhigulin shoots in for a takedown but Quinn shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Quinn forces Zhigulin back against the cage and clinches.

Quinn breaks the clinch.
Quinn shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Zhigulin as he jumps to the side.

and Quinn counters with a shoot takedown. Zhigulin fights it but they end up in guard.
Hagar Quinn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Slava Zhigulin.

Quinn wants to stand but Zhigulin is controlling his posture from full guard.

Quinn gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Hagar Quinn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zhigulin closes the distance and clinches up with Quinn, looking for a takedown. Zhigulin pushes Quinn against the cage but Quinn circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Quinn swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Zhigulin shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Quinn napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Quinn parries the strikes from Zhigulin easily there. Zhigulin is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Quinn to escape.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here.
Quinn is looking for a sweep.
Zhigulin in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Zhigulin lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Quinn down.
Zhigulin trying to control the position but Quinn is working away.
Zhigulin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Quinn wants to get back to his feet but Zhigulin drags him back down.
Quinn is working to avoid the ground and pound but Zhigulin connects with a decent elbow.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Quinn is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Zhigulin is controlling him well.
Zhigulin cracks Quinn with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Quinn is pushing Zhigulin's head away, looking to escape. Zhigulin manages to hold on to the position though.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Quinn throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action!



Zhigulin gets a takedown into half guard.
Zhigulin lands with a punch from half guard.
Zhigulin throws a strike but Quinn avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Quinn looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Zhigulin wants to control from the top but Quinn keeps moving.
Quinn will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Quinn avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Quinn is on top in guard.

Quinn wants to control from the top but Zhigulin keeps moving.
Zhigulin wants to sweep here but Quinn controlling him for the moment.
Zhigulin can't keep his opponent in guard - Quinn advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Quinn lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Zhigulin works his way to full guard. Good work.
Quinn postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Quinn missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Quinn has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Quinn decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Zhigulin shoots in but Quinn avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Quinn throws a leg kick but Zhigulin checks it.
Zhigulin avoids a punch combination nicely.

and Quinn counters with an inside leg kick.

Quinn gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Zhigulin tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Quinn smiles and moves away.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Quinn has hold of one of Zhigulin's legs. Zhigulin is fighting the takedown attempt but Quinn gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Zhigulin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Quinn wants to get back to striking at distance but Zhigulin won't allow it.
Quinn has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Zhigulin avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Hagar Quinn overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Quinn seems to be working for a kimura but Zhigulin defends the submission attempt.
Quinn takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Zhigulin is trying to control but can't.
Quinn thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Zhigulin's head.
Quinn looks to land a strike but Zhigulin avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Zhigulin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Zhigulin wants it to stay on the feet.

and Quinn counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Quinn knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Zhigulin on the ground.

Quinn working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Slava Zhigulin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Quinn throws a strike but Zhigulin avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Quinn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Zhigulin swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Quinn lands a couple of elbows.
Hagar Quinn is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Quinn is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Zhigulin had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Quinn defends it easily.

And that's the end of the fight!
Hagar Quinn showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Quinn has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
