Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Allistar Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Royce Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Royce Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Eliza Hachem and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gracie as he avoids it easily.
Alvarez wants to clinch.
Alvarez moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Gracie rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Alvarez moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Alvarez throws a sloppy head kick and Gracie moves out of range easily.
The fight stays on the outside here - Alvarez looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Gracie gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Alvarez's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Alvarez throws a head kick that misses.
Alvarez tries to clinch but Gracie moves away
and Gracie counters by clinching up.
Gracie fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Alvarez.

Alvarez pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Gracie circles away from the clinch attempt
and Gracie counters by moving into the clinch.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Gracie ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Gracie no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Gracie looks gassed!

Gracie keeping moving, preventing Alvarez from controlling successfully.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Alvarez showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Alvarez trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Alvarez looking to sit in guard and control but Gracie gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Alvarez trying to keep a closed guard but Gracie is proving a slippery customer.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Alvarez tries to land a front kick but Gracie steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Alvarez tries to clinch up
and Gracie counters with a two punch combo.

and Gracie counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Alvarez creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Gracie managing to block the knees to the body from Alvarez.
Alvarez jumps guard but Gracie stands there with Alvarez around his waist. Alvarez gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Allistar Alvarez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gracie fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Gracie tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Alvarez just stands there and leans against the cage.
Gracie jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Alvarez walks away with a smile on his face. Gracie gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Gracie closes the distance and clinches.
Alvarez lands a nice elbow.
Gracie wants a takedown.
Alvarez breaks from the clinch.
Alvarez closes the distance but Gracie moves to the side
and Gracie holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Royce Gracie will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Alvarez tries to clinch
and Gracie counters with a series of strikes. Alvarez will be more careful next time no doubt.
Alvarez tries to keep at a distance but Gracie has taken the fight into the clinch.
Alvarez scores with a knee to the head.
Alvarez gets underhooks to prevent Gracie's takedown attempt.
Alvarez using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Alvarez jumps guard but Gracie stands there with Alvarez around his waist. Alvarez gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Alvarez throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Gracie blocks it with crossed arms.
Alvarez is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Gracie is defending well for now.
Alvarez tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Gracie just stands there and leans against the cage.
Gracie keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Alvarez's efforts to push away.
Gracie is breathing heavily.
Alvarez with a knee to the head.
Alvarez pulls guard effortlessly.

Alvarez not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Alvarez is looking to sinch up a triangle. Gracie throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Alvarez's body to avoid the submission. Alvarez has instead reached around Gracie's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Alvarez arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Allistar Alvarez!
