Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wally Wild Man! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Phillip Cane! The judges for this bout are , and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wild Man misses with a wild combination.
Cane tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Wild Man throws a right and a left that both miss. Cane misses with a takedown attempt - Wild Man sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Wild Man lands with a straight right. Cane didn't see that one coming. Wild Man connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Cane's hands. Cane wants to clinch. Wild Man misses with a looping right. Cane bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Wild Man tries to improve position but can't. Wild Man is not content to let Cane control the position. Wild Man looks to move to half guard but instead Cane has passed into mount! Damn!
That's one minute gone in the round. Wild Man is looking to improve his position but Cane isn't that keen on the idea. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cane lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Cane is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Wild Man is rocked! Cane content just to control the position here. Cane postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Wild Man looks a forlorn figure.
Oh Wild Man is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Wild Man is bucking up trying to escape but Cane cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Wild Man seems to have got his legs back now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cane wants to control the pace but Wild Man is squirming around nicely. Cane with a couple of short strikes. Wild Man sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Wild Man is breathing heavily. Cane trying to pass the guard but Wild Man defending well. Cane is figuring out what he wants to do next. I looks like Cane might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Cane is working for a kimura but Wild Man is defending it quite comfortably.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cane looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Wild Man regains full guard. Nicely done. Wild Man is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Wild Man working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Cane has passed into half guard!
Cane content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Wild Man wants to control but Cane is keeping busy and won't allow it. Cane wants to pass to mount but Wild Man is defending the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wild Man works his way to full guard. Good work. Wild Man looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Cane in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Wild Man is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Wild Man looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Cane passes into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Phillip Cane dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Cane shoots in but Wild Man avoids the takedown attempt easily. Cane shoots for a takedown but Wild Man saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Wild Man throws a right and a left that both miss. Wally Wild Man is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Cane shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Wild Man pinned against the cage. Wild Man gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Wally Wild Man has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Phillip Cane. Cane comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Wild Man looks to land a combination but Cane avoids it well. Cane has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Cane shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Wild Man's guard. Cane wants to control from the top but Wild Man keeps moving. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Wild Man looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Cane passes into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round. Wild Man is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Wild Man actively working from the bottom here. Wild Man trying to control but Cane postures up.
Cane throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Wild Man slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Cane postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Wild Man working for a triangle but Cane defends it easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Cane wants to pass the guard but Wild Man is keeping the position. Wild Man has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Cane is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Wild Man. Cane trying to control the position but Wild Man is working away. Wild Man manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wild Man moves nicely into side control. Wild Man wants to control but Cane is keeping him busy. Wild Man has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Cane! Cane wants to control but Wild Man is having none of it. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Wild Man cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Wild Man looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Cane is trying desperately to improve position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wild Man avoids the attempt from Cane to control. Cane can't escape the position.

Cane slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Wally Wild Man dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Cane clinches up with Wild Man and pushes him back against the cage. Stalling in the clinch from Cane.
Cane gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Cane tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Cane prevents Wild Man from breaking the clinch. Cane drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Wild Man gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Cane breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Wild Man looks to land a left hand but Cane moved out of range nicely. Cane closes this distance looking for a takedown but Wild Man circles away. Wally Wild Man has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Phillip Cane. Wild Man throws a right hand that Cane ducks under and follows up with a left that Cane also avoids with ease. Excellent takedown into side control there by Cane. Wild Man manages to get back to half guard. Cane is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Cane passes the guard and advances to mount! Wild Man working to try and regain half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wild Man regains half guard. Wild Man keeping control of the position. Wild Man trying to control from the bottom.
Wild Man actively working from the bottom here. Wild Man blocking the ground and pound attempt from Cane.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Wild Man is refusing to be controlled, as Cane sits in half guard. Cane passes into side control, despite Wild Man's attempt to control the position.
Cane is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Wild Man is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Wild Man manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Cane is looking to control Wild Man's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Cane avoid being mounted? Cane is looking to escape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wild Man trying to control from Cane's half guard. Cane has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Wild Man wants to control from the top but Cane keeps moving. Wild Man looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Cane is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Wild Man dives into side control.
Wild Man wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cane keeps working. Cane trying his best to control but Wild Man has mounted him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Cane can't escape the position.
Wild Man blocks Cane's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Cane tries to hold on but Wild Man pushes him away. Cane is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Cane is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Wild Man scoring with strikes but Cane is staying in there. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Cane is trying desperately to improve position. Wild Man postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Cane looks a forlorn figure.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Wally Wild Man. I think Wild Man has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
