Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Williams! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marc Callaway! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Columbo Gatti and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Callaway defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Williams. Callaway gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Williams finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Callaway tries to clinch but Williams moves away and Williams counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Williams trying to pass the guard but Callaway defending well. Williams blocks the strikes from Callaway.
Williams is working for a kimura but Callaway is defending it quite comfortably.
Callaway tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Williams slows the pace down in half guard. Callaway pushes Williams off looking to stand but Williams dives back in and keeps control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williams not doing much here.
Callaway flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Callaway tries to get to full guard but Williams has control of the leg. Callaway misses with some strikes from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Williams closes the distance and pushes Callaway back into the cage. Callaway can't break the clinch.
Callaway jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Williams walks away with a smile on his face. Callaway gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Callaway looks gassed! Callaway darts in trying to clinch and Williams counters with a nice double leg into side control. Callaway won't be happy with that. Callaway throws a punch from the bottom, which has left him a bit exposed here… Williams has an arm triangle now. This could be big trouble for Callaway. He's out! He's out cold! The ref pulls Williams off and Williams celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:04 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). James Williams!
