And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, wyvern stewart!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Elvis Blanc and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
stewart tries to clinch but Yaroslavovich moves out of range.
stewart misses with a kick to the body.

Excellent takedown into side control there by stewart.
stewart trying to control the action but Yaroslavovich is working from the bottom.
stewart is trying to ground and pound but Yaroslavovich uses the momentary lack of control by stewart to regain half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Yaroslavovich slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
stewart won't allow Yaroslavovich to sweep him here.
stewart looking to sit in guard and control but Yaroslavovich gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
stewart looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Yaroslavovich puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Yaroslavovich is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
stewart wants to control but Yaroslavovich is keeping busy and won't allow it.

stewart is looking to advance position but Yaroslavovich has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
stewart tries to hold on but Yaroslavovich pushes him away.

Yaroslavovich moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, stewart has worked his arm free - good work by stewart!
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - stewart has eaten all the pies!
Yaroslavovich is breathing heavily.
stewart is trying to improve his position.
Yaroslavovich wants to lay and pray for a moment but stewart keeps working.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
stewart sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
stewart is doing well to control the position and prevent Yaroslavovich from advancing to side control.

Yaroslavovich is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
stewart makes his way to full guard. A much better position for stewart.
Yaroslavovich wants to get up but he can't break stewart's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Yaroslavovich wants to pass the guard but stewart is keeping the position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

stewart decides to stand back up. stewart steps back and let's Yaroslavovich get back to his feet.
stewart throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Yaroslavovich circles away from the clinch attempt.
stewart is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
stewart tries to clinch up but Yaroslavovich circles away and keeps his distance.

stewart clinches up with Yaroslavovich and pushes him back against the cage.

stewart breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

stewart has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Yaroslavovich regains guard immediately.

Yaroslavovich has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but stewart can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

stewart must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

stewart thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Yaroslavovich controls stewart momentarily but stewart frees himself.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

stewart tries to close the distance and clinch but Yaroslavovich swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

stewart is looking to clinch but Yaroslavovich is avoiding it.
stewart misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
