The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Glass and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paterson misses with a two punch combination.
Blachowicz blocks a jab.
Paterson throws a series of punches but Blachowicz moves out of range.
Paterson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Paterson cracks Blachowicz with a big right hand but Blachowicz just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Blachowicz manages to work his way to half guard, despite Paterson's best efforts.
Blachowicz is looking to improve his position.
Blachowicz is breathing heavily.
Blachowicz is not content to let Paterson control the position.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Paterson lands a nice short elbow.
Paterson scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Blachowicz looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Paterson wants to take a breather but Blachowicz is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Paterson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Paterson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Blachowicz knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Paterson is looking to take a break and control but Blachowicz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Paterson is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Blachowicz is hurt! He's hurt bad - Paterson fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Blachowicz from any more punishment! Congratulations to Paterson! Great finish!
