Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Randleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Anderson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Sky is the limit. Randleman comes into a darkened arena with his song building. UNBREAKABLE kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mike Anderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kevin Randleman!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Vladimir Khabensky and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Randleman thows a left - swing and a miss!
Randleman fails with a takedown attempt.
Randleman throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Anderson on the side of the head.
Anderson avoids a punch combination nicely.

Randleman throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Anderson was covering up waiting for the punch and Randleman finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Anderson avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Anderson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Anderson keeping moving, preventing Randleman from controlling successfully.
Randleman is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Anderson is trying to control the position but Randleman postures up.

Anderson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Randleman doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Randleman manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Randleman changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Anderson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Anderson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Randleman wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Randleman wants to stand but Anderson is controlling his arm.

Anderson is not content to let Randleman control the position.

Anderson is looking for a sweep.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Randleman closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Randleman lands in his opponent's guard.
Anderson has momentary wrist control but Randleman slips an elbow through the middle.
Anderson is trying to hold Randleman in close to prevent damage but Randleman has managed to pass into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Randleman throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Anderson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Anderson keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.

Randleman takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Anderson is trying to control but can't.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Randleman is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Anderson's half guard.

Anderson slaps away a takedown attempt from Randleman, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Anderson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Randleman drops down looking for an ankle pick but Anderson pulls his leg out and moves away.

Randleman tries for a takedown. No joy.
Mike Anderson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kevin Randleman.

Anderson pulls guard effortlessly.
Anderson wants to sweep but no luck.
Randleman wants to control from the top but Anderson keeps moving.
Anderson controls Randleman momentarily but Randleman frees himself.

Anderson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Randleman defends it easily.
Anderson is trying to keep Randleman in close.

Randleman must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Anderson wants to sweep here but Randleman controlling him for the moment.

Randleman fails to land the takedown.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Randleman looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Randleman misses with a low kick.

Randleman gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Randleman wants to stand but Anderson is controlling the position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Randleman can do anything to dispel that myth.

Anderson is looking to take a break and control but Randleman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

and Anderson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Randleman won't be happy with that.

Anderson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Anderson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Anderson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Randleman manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

And that's the end of the fight!
Mike Anderson showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Anderson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
