Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between BJ Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and The Nature Boy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, William Peck and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pierre misses with a kick to the body.
Nature Boy moves into range and clinches up with Pierre.
Pierre jumps guard and drags Nature Boy to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Pierre tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Nature Boy prevents Pierre from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pierre wants to sweep here but Nature Boy controlling him for the moment.
Nature Boy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pierre swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

and Nature Boy counters by moving into the clinch.
Pierre jumps guard and drags Nature Boy to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Pierre rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Nature Boy moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Nature Boy moves in looking to clinch but Pierre pushes him off.
Nature Boy fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Pierre sprawls well initially but Nature Boy persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Nature Boy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pierre keeps working.

Pierre has one foot on Nature Boy's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Pierre is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Pierre gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Pierre gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Pierre apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Pierre manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Nature Boy is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Pierre tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Pierre is controlling Nature Boy's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Nature Boy is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Pierre works his way to full guard. Good work.

Nature Boy tries to free his leg and advance position but Pierre is retaining full guard.

Pierre jumps guard but Nature Boy stands there with Pierre around his waist. Pierre gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for BJ Pierre. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Pierre jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Nature Boy walks away with a smile on his face. Pierre gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Nature Boy bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Nature Boy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pierre. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Pierre is staying active underneath Nature Boy, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Nature Boy thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Pierre's head.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Nature Boy can do anything to dispel that myth.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Pierre has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

I would just about give that final round to The Nature Boy.
