PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sho Fukamachi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vladimir Hais (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fukamachi comes to the cage accompanied by Guyver: The Bio-Boosted Armor. Hais is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Time to Say Goodbye by Bocelli & Brightman. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Sho Fukamachi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 1, fighting out of London, Vladimir Hais!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Donald Grub and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hais misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Hais dives in and grabs Fukamachi's left leg, looking for a takedown. Fukamachi pushes down on Hais's head and hops out.

and Hais counters with a takedown into side control.
Hais tries to move to mount but Fukamachi blocks the move with his legs.
Fukamachi sneaks back into half guard.
Fukamachi moves into full guard.
Hais is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Fukamachi is controlling Hais's posture.
Hais is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Fukamachi manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fukamachi wants to control the pace but Hais is squirming around nicely.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fukamachi with a couple of short strikes.
Hais is desperately trying to improve his position but Fukamachi has a good base and remains in mount.
Fukamachi tries to control but Hais wriggling away.
Fukamachi controlling from the full mount.
Fukamachi is landing with some decent strikes but Hais is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Fukamachi takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Hais really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Fukamachi pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Hais is squirming around, avoiding Fukamachi's attempts to control the action.

Hais is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Fukamachi controlling his opponent.
Hais can't escape the position.
Fukamachi looking to control but Hais is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Fukamachi is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Hais is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Hais is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Sho Fukamachi just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Hais tries to control but Fukamachi wriggling away.
Fukamachi is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Hais is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Fukamachi has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Fukamachi wants to hold on but Hais pushes him away.
Fukamachi is trying desperately to improve position.
Fukamachi tries to lock up and control but Hais gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Fukamachi really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Hais is in the full mount, landing strikes.

Hais working for a submission but Fukamachi is keeping him at bay.
Fukamachi is looking to improve his position but Hais isn't that keen on the idea.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Hais is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Fukamachi doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hais.

Fukamachi might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Fukamachi is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Hais wants to control from the top but Fukamachi keeps moving.

Fukamachi has his foot on Hais's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hais works his way back into a safe position though.
Fukamachi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Hais drops back looking for a leg! Fukamachi is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Fukamachi manages to kick Hais off! Hais jumps back into Fukamachi's guard.

Fukamachi bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hais's guard.

Hais is breathing heavily.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Fukamachi drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Hais has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Fukamachi can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Fukamachi decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Fukamachi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hais swivels though and keeps the full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hais is pressing down on Fukamachi's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Hais looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hais throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Fukamachi's waist but Fukamachi gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hais off to one side.

and Hais counters with a nice double leg into side control. Fukamachi won't be happy with that.
Hais tries to advance to mount but Fukamachi denies him.
Fukamachi is trying to control Hais's posture but Hais avoids it.
Fukamachi is trying to get back to half guard.

A lull in the action here.

Hais thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Fukamachi manages to get back to half guard.
Fukamachi makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Fukamachi.
Fukamachi can't keep his opponent in guard - Hais advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Fukamachi is looking to control Hais's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Fukamachi avoid being mounted?

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Vladimir Hais.
I think Hais has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
