Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alex Faria (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Lotus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lotus has chosen Eye of the tiger as his entrance music. Tommy Lotus is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Faria takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Lotus cracks Faria with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Lotus scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Faria scores a takedown into full mount!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Faria thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lotus avoids a series of strikes thrown by Faria.
Faria connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Lotus tries to reverse the position but Faria maintains control.
Lotus really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Faria. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Faria misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Faria has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Faria goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Lotus is on top in guard.

Faria wants to sweep here but Lotus controlling him for the moment.
Lotus wants to pass the guard but Faria is keeping the position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Faria is looking to sweep but instead, Lotus has passed into half guard.

Lotus decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Faria changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lotus tries to avoid it but Faria manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lotus to the ground. Lotus escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Lotus counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Faria is breathing heavily.
Lotus misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Alex Faria seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lotus looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Lotus ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Faria fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Faria needs to keep his hands up - Lotus had a free shot at his head there.

Faria takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Faria fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lotus avoids it really well and circles away.

Oh Faria is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Faria seems to have got his legs back now.
Lotus thuds his right hand into Faria's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

BOOM! Lotus lands a beautiful left hook that drops Faria. Faria tries to recover but Lotus is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Faria lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
