PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tim King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raul Karhim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Karhim comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Three Days Grace - The Good Life kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Tim King has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tim King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Raul Karhim!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Skip Squint and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King lands a two punch combo.


It looks like Raul Karhim has been cut.

Karhim throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. King was covering up waiting for the punch and Karhim finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
King lands a couple of shots from the bottom.
Karhim won't allow King to get back to his feet.
King striking off his back but it's not causing Karhim any problems.
King utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

King manages to work his way to half guard, despite Karhim's best efforts.
Karhim seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but King does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
King is trying to stand up here but Karhim is controlling him well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
King pushes Karhim off looking to stand but Karhim dives back in and keeps control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

That was a close round but I would say that Tim King will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Raul Karhim's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Karhim misses with the combination.
Karhim throws a series of punches but King moves out of range.
King throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Karhim.
Karhim throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
King misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Karhim rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but King moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Karhim closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Karhim lands in his opponent's guard.
Karhim won't allow King to get back to his feet.
King trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Karhim stands up over King, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Karhim wants to control from the top but King keeps moving.

The fight stays on the outside here - King looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Karhim misses with the combination.
Karhim leaves King with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Tim King is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Karhim closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

King tries to get to full guard but Karhim has control of the leg.
King gets back to full guard.

King uses the cage to get back to his feet.
King tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Karhim paws at him with a jab and circles away.
King avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Karhim doesn't manage to clinch there - King circles away.
Karhim misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Karhim clinches.
Karhim scores with a nice hook to the head.
King misses with a knee strike.
King tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Karhim just stands there and leans against the cage.

Karhim breaks the clinch.
Karhim misses with a wild combination.
King misses with a takedown

and Karhim counters by moving into the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tim King. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Karhim ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Karhim no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Karhim has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Karhim bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in King's guard.
Karhim slips nicely into half guard.
King tries to kick Karhim off but Karhim keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

King is refusing to be controlled, as Karhim sits in half guard.

Raul Karhim showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Karhim is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in King's half guard.
King looks like he's trying to stand up.
