And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Stanislav Borkovskiy!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yukihiro Shimada and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Miamoto clinches.
Borkovskiy misses with an elbow over the top.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Borkovskiy fails to land the takedown.
Miamoto leaves Borkovskiy with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Borkovskiy shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Miamoto bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Borkovskiy's guard.

Borkovskiy is working an open guard so Miamoto takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Borkovskiy keeping moving, preventing Miamoto from controlling successfully.

Miamoto gets to his feet. Borkovskiy looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Miamoto here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Miamoto shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Miamoto showed some decent athleticism there.
Borkovskiy is in trouble now - Miamoto has advanced to mount!

Miamoto tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Miamoto lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!



Miamoto looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Borkovskiy is refusing to be controlled, as Miamoto sits in half guard.
Borkovskiy takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Borkovskiy looks like he's trying to stand up.

Miamoto escapes and gets back to his feet.
Borkovskiy gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Miamoto decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Borkovskiy's guard.

Miamoto is pushing down on Borkovskiy's leg trying to pass to half guard. Borkovskiy is fighting to maintain full guard but Miamoto has managed to sneak the leg through.

You can see the frustration on Borkovskiy's face as Miamoto controls the position.

Miamoto has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Miamoto tries for a kimura but Borkovskiy is defending well.
Borkovskiy pushes Miamoto away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Miamoto gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The ground and pound from Miamoto seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Miamoto remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Borkovskiy bucks up and tries to throw Miamoto off but instead Miamoto has got his back!

And that's the end of the fight!

Well Miamoto has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
