PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Steamboat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lewis has chosen SABOTAGE as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tyson Steamboat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Danny Lewis!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steamboat throws a head kick but Lewis moves out of range.
Steamboat will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Lewis pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Steamboat tries to close the distance and clinch but Lewis swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Lewis throws a sloppy head kick
and Steamboat counters with a head kick. That will keep Lewis thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Steamboat shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lewis pinned against the cage. Lewis gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Steamboat moves in looking to clinch but Lewis pushes him off.

Steamboat just misses with a punch to the body.
Lewis circles away from the clinch attempt.

Lewis scores a takedown into full mount!
Lewis wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.

Lewis has control of Steamboat's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Steamboat regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Steamboat is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Lewis has taken his back.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close second round but I would say that Tyson Steamboat will probably get the nod.

Lewis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
