The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gracie looking for a guillotine here but pulver defends easily.
pulver stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gracie swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Gracie is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Gracie keeping moving, preventing pulver from controlling successfully.
pulver not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
pulver must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
pulver thows a big elbow that misses.

Gracie looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Gracie working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. pulver doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. pulver manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
pulver really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

pulver decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Gracie, up you get!

pulver lands a left and a right that send Gracie crashing to the mat, dazed. pulver thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

pulver lands a huge takedown. Gracie is out but the ref is slow to react and pulver lands 3 more undefended punches before the fight is stopped. Brutal finish. Gracie lies on the canvas for a good minute before the doctors bring him round. Good to see he's OK.
