Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Scott Pilgrim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juan Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Scott Pilgrim! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Juan Garcia! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Donatello Bradman and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Garcia rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Pilgrim moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Pilgrim moves into the clinch successfully.
Garcia stops a takedown attempt from Pilgrim.
Pilgrim breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Pilgrim closes the distance and clinches up with Garcia, looking for a takedown. Pilgrim pushes Garcia against the cage but Garcia circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Pilgrim looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Garcia is fending him off so far but Pilgrim persists. Nope, Garcia circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Scott Pilgrim. That's going to take a lot out of him. Garcia throws out a powerful jab. Pilgrim bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Garcia throws a right hand that Pilgrim ducks under and follows up with a left that Pilgrim also avoids with ease. Garcia misses with an uppercut. Pilgrim lands a with a good body shot. Garcia shoots in but no luck this time. Pilgrim fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Garcia looks gassed! Pilgrim clinches. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Pilgrim gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Pilgrim trying to control the position from guard on top but Garcia is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Garcia avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Garcia keeping moving, preventing Pilgrim from controlling successfully. Pilgrim has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Pilgrim passes into half guard. Pilgrim not doing much here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Garcia won't allow Pilgrim to pass to mount. Pilgrim decides to return to a standing position. Garcia rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Pilgrim moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Pilgrim changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Garcia looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pilgrim controls the position. Pilgrim in side control, throwing shots but Garcia defends. Pilgrim looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Garcia is avoiding damage well.
Pilgrim stands up. Pilgrim shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pilgrim throwing shots but Garcia is blocking nicely. Nice strikes from Pilgrim there. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Pilgrim tries to pass to full mount but Garcia defends it. Pilgrim seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Garcia does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Scott Pilgrim dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Pilgrim moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Garcia swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Pilgrim shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Garcia napping and manages to drive through into side control! Pilgrim tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Pilgrim is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Garcia knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pilgrim wants to lay and pray for a moment but Garcia keeps working.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. You can see the frustration on Garcia's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Garcia prevents Pilgrim from improving position. Pilgrim controls the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Garcia fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Pilgrim moves out of range as Garcia strikes. Garcia changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pilgrim tries to avoid it but Garcia manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pilgrim to the ground. Pilgrim escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Pilgrim moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Nice takedown defense from Garcia. No joy for Pilgrim on that attempt. Pilgrim shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Pilgrim showed some decent athleticism there. Pilgrim decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Garcia lands with a right hand. Pilgrim gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Pilgrim breaks from the clinch.
Garcia throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Pilgrim moves into range and clinches up with Garcia. Pilgrim fails to pull guard.
Pilgrim is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Scott Pilgrim. That's going to take a lot out of him. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Garcia prevents a takedown attempt there.
Pilgrim's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Scott Pilgrim dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Garcia fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Pilgrim scores a takedown into full mount! Garcia is squirming around, avoiding Pilgrim's attempts to control the action. Pilgrim is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Garcia is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Pilgrim controlling from the full mount. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee warns Garcia that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
You get the feeling that Garcia really doesn't like being in this position too much.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Pilgrim throwing strikes here but Garcia is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Pilgrim controlling the position easily from mount. Pilgrim punching from mount but Garcia doing a good job of avoiding damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pilgrim with good strikes from the mount here! Pilgrim looking for a guillotine from mount but Garcia is having none of it. Pilgrim is landing with some decent strikes but Garcia is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Pilgrim is standing up, even though he is in mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pilgrim lands a two punch combo.
Garcia misses with an uppercut. Pilgrim saw that one coming. Pilgrim shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Garcia pinned against the cage. Garcia gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Pilgrim misses with a takedown and Garcia counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Garcia misses with a combination
so Pilgrim counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Pilgrim wants to control from the top but Garcia keeps moving. Pilgrim stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Garcia swivels though and keeps the full guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Scott Pilgrim showed his dominance in that final round. Well Pilgrim has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
