Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Busta Mug!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeff Stevenson!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Chad Campbell and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mug throws a body kick that misses.
Stevenson leaves Mug with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Mug fails with a takedown attempt.
Mug looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Busta Mug. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Stevenson cracks Mug with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Mug fails in his attempt to clinch.
Mug avoids a punch combination nicely.
Stevenson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Mug.
Mug shoots in for a takedown but Stevenson shows good takedown defense.
Stevenson connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Stevenson lunges at Mug with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Mug's hand.
No joy there for Mug, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Stevenson, right into the meat.

Mug ducks right into an uppercut from Stevenson.
Stevenson lands a really nice looking cross but Mug seems unphased.
Mug is breathing heavily.
Stevenson throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Mug dodges the punch combination from Stevenson.
Mug throws a series of punches but Stevenson moves out of range.
Mug takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Stevenson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Stevenson scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.


Mug is rocked!
Stevenson throws a lazy right hand but Mug sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Oh Mug is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Stevenson lunges at Mug with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Mug's hand.

Stevenson closes the distance and clinches.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Mug seems to have got his legs back now.

Mug is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Mug jumps guard but Stevenson stands there with Mug around his waist. Mug gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Mug tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Stevenson avoids it.

Stevenson has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Mug is trying to keep an underhook but Stevenson manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Stevenson is trying to control the action in half guard but Mug is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Stevenson lands strikes from half guard.
Stevenson lands with a punch from half guard.
Stevenson is looking to advance position but Mug won't allow it.
Stevenson is looking to take a break and control but Mug is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Stevenson moves nicely into side control.
Mug wants to control but Stevenson postures up.

Stevenson is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Mug will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

That's time! Mug's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Stevenson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Stevenson throws a body punch but Mug moves out of range.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Mug. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Mug clinches but Stevenson breaks the clinch

Mug is looking for a sweep.

Stevenson throws a strike aimed at the side of Mug's head but Mug avoids it well.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Mug shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Stevenson sprawls well. Stevenson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mug gets slowly back to his feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Stevenson keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Mug tries to clinch up but Stevenson circles away and keeps his distance.

Mug throws a head kick that misses
and Stevenson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Stevenson throws a right and a left that both miss.

Busta Mug has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeff Stevenson.

Stevenson fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Stevenson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Mug feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Stevenson pushes Mug off and gets back to his feet.
Busta Mug is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Stevenson stuns Mug with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Mug takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Mug shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Stevenson as he jumps to the side.

Mug takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Stevenson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Mug takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Stevenson scores with a one two! Mug had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Stevenson misses with a series of wild punches.
Stevenson lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
The fighters circle momentarily. Stevenson darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Mug closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Stevenson, as that shot connected.

Stevenson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mug has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Stevenson is working away from the top position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jeff Stevenson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Mug's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Stevenson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mug does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee is keeping an eye on Stevenson - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Mug wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Stevenson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Well Stevenson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
