Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Shane Carwin! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carwin fails to land with a series of punches.
Shane Carwin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Carwin closes the distance and clinches. Leites goes for a takedown attempt but Carwin pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Carwin lands a head shot. Carwin lands a two punch combo.
Carwin fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Carwin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Leites. Leites tries to clinch but Carwin moves out of range. Carwin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Leites paws at him with a jab and circles away. Carwin is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Carwin lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Leites circles away quickly and effectively. Carwin moves into range and clinches up with Leites. Carwin is trying to break the clinch but Leites is controlling him. Carwin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Carwin closes the distance and lands a one-two. Leites dodges the punch combination from Carwin.
Leites shoots for a double leg takedown but Carwin sprawls well. He's pushed Leites's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Leites bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Carwin wants to get back to his feet. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Carwin can do anything to dispel that myth. Leites is looking to take a break and control but Carwin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Carwin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Leites. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Leites controls the position. Leites has hold of Carwin's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Carwin seems comfortable defending it but Leites has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Carwin is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Carwin is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Leites couldn't care less - he's delighted!
