Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Facundo Mendez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Steve Nash!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Joseph Jones and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big right from Mendez misses.
Mendez throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Mendez swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Facundo Mendez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mendez looks to land a right hand but Nash moved out of range.
Nash shoots in but no luck this time.
Mendez waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Nash.
Mendez swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mendez finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Nash fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Mendez feints and as Nash raises his hands in defense, Mendez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Mendez won't allow Nash to sweep him here.

Mendez drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mendez jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Nash is on top in guard.
Nash passes Mendez's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Nash in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Mendez tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Nash!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:01 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Steve Nash!
