Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kris Brisbell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Lethal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kris Brisbell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chris Lethal!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brisbell showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Lethal.

Lethal throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Brisbell was covering up waiting for the punch and Lethal finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Lethal wants to control from the top but Brisbell keeps moving.
Lethal throws a big right hand that misses.
Brisbell is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Brisbell is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Lethal darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brisbell regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Lethal.
Lethal postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Lethal must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Lethal is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Brisbell is trying to control the position but Lethal postures up.
Lethal chips away with some ground and pound.
Lethal throws and elbow that misses. Brisbell uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Lethal's guard. Nice move by Brisbell!
Brisbell stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lethal swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Lethal looks to land a strike but Brisbell avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Brisbell controls Lethal momentarily but Lethal frees himself.

Brisbell utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Lethal fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Brisbell avoids it really well and circles away.

Brisbell pushes Lethal off and gets back to his feet.
Lethal shoots for a takedown but Brisbell saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

and Lethal counters with a takedown into side control.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kris Brisbell. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Brisbell regains half guard there - taking advantage of Lethal's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Lethal not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Brisbell is trying to maintain the position but Lethal is very close to passing his half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Brisbell wants to get back to his feet.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Brisbell throws a head kick that half lands.

Lethal shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Brisbell manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Lethal is working Brisbell over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Brisbell is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Brisbell is working for a kimura but Lethal is defending it quite comfortably.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Brisbell lands a nice short elbow.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Brisbell is trying to control. Lethal wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The ground and pound from Brisbell seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Brisbell is looking to take a break and control but Lethal is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Brisbell is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lethal knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Brisbell sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Lethal is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Brisbell has control of Lethal's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Lethal regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Brisbell lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Lethal really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brisbell. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Brisbell tries to control but Lethal wriggling away.
Chris Lethal has got the better of the ground game so far.
Brisbell is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Lethal is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Lethal is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Lethal swats away the attempt to clinch by Brisbell.
Brisbell thows a body kick. Lethal tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Brisbell throws a head kick but Lethal moves out of range.
Lethal changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Brisbell tries to avoid it but Lethal manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Brisbell to the ground. Brisbell escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Brisbell tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lethal paws at him with a jab and circles away.

The fighters are battling for position here. Brisbell manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Lethal throws a strike but Brisbell rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Brisbell accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Lethal takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Brisbell wants to pass the guard but Lethal is keeping the position.
Brisbell wants to control from the top but Lethal keeps moving.

Brisbell thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Brisbell jumps guard and drags Lethal to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Lethal throws a strike but Brisbell rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Brisbell is looking to work some ground and pound but Lethal has wrist control.
Brisbell wants to control from the top but Lethal keeps moving.

Brisbell stands up and waves to Lethal to follow him.
Brisbell shoots in but no luck this time.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kris Brisbell showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Brisbell has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
