Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nathan Bell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fernando Garcia! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Joseph Jones and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Garcia ducks under a wild hook from Bell. Bell drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Bell in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Bell gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Garcia shoots and misses and Bell counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Garcia! Bell really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Garcia is in a horrible position here. Bell smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Garcia really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bell. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Garcia avoids a series of strikes thrown by Bell.
Bell breaks from Garcia's wrist control and lands an elbow. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Bell lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Garcia hang on? Garcia wants to control but Bell is having none of it. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Garcia can do anything to dispel that myth. Bell lands a big elbow.

Bell unloading with bombs! Bell lands a heavy elbow. Bell lands a big elbow. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bell thowing shots but they're missing. Poor strikes thrown by Bell there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Garcia slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Bell sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Garcia defending well though. Bell has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Bell thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Garcia to regain full guard. Bell throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Garcia works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Bell throwing strikes but missing. Garcia is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Bell looking to pass the guard. Garcia has Bell pulled in close to control his posture. Bell missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Bell throws a right and a left that both miss. Garcia drives through with a takedown into guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Garcia fails with the takedown and Bell counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Bell loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Bell landing some decent shots from guard. Bell stands and steps away. Garcia gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. A combination from Bell does no damage. Bell has a takedown stuffed. Garcia misses with a takedown and Bell counters with a takedown into side control. Bell misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The ground and pound from Bell seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Garcia is looking for a sweep. Nathan Bell overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Garcia wants to get back to his feet but Bell drags him back down. It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Bell clinches up with Garcia and pushes him back against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Bell pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Nathan Bell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Garcia scores a takedown into full mount! Garcia wants to control the pace but Bell is squirming around nicely. Garcia might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Bell kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Garcia raining down shots from the mount!

Bell is squirming around, avoiding Garcia's attempts to control the action. Garcia tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Garcia cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Garcia content just to control the position here. Bell takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Bell is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Bell gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Garcia to score an easy takedown into full guard. Bell is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. Bell bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Garcia's guard. Bell throwing strikes from guard but Garcia blocks nicely. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Garcia gets the takedown into side control. Garcia remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Garcia is looking to take a break and control but Bell is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Garcia throws an elbow but Bell slips to the side and avoids it well.
