Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hector Escobar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ry Bread (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Escobar kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Welcome to the Jungle - Guns N' Roses. 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ry Bread! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Escobar shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Escobar tries to pass the half guard into mount. Bread knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Bread wants to get back to his feet. Bread is not content to let Escobar control the position. Escobar is trying to work for a kimura but Bread is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Still in half guard, Escobar seems content to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Escobar wants to work for an arm triangle but Bread is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Bread is staying active underneath Escobar, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Escobar is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Escobar seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bread does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Escobar not landing any meaningful shots this time. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. No joy there for Bread, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Escobar drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Escobar postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Escobar loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Escobar drops back looking for a leg! Bread is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bread manages to kick Escobar off! Escobar jumps back into Bread's guard. Escobar thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bread wants to stand up but Escobar is controlling him. Escobar trying to control the position from guard on top but Bread is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Escobar is in close to Bread's body, working some short punches and elbows. Bread really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Escobar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Escobar sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Bread's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Escobar is trying for a kimura here. Bread looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Escobar wins by kimura!
