Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Drew Pinksy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alistar Oberream! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Daniel Cesar and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pinksy cracks Oberream with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Pinksy throws a right hand that Oberream ducks under and follows up with a left that Oberream also avoids with ease. Oberream closes this distance looking for a takedown but Pinksy circles away. Oberream fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pinksy manages to avoid it. Nice takedown defense from Pinksy. No joy for Oberream on that attempt. Pinksy slips under a jab from Oberream. Oberream throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Alistar Oberream seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Oberream scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Pinksy regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Oberream. Pinksy trying to keep a closed guard but Oberream is proving a slippery customer.
Pinksy will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Oberream not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

This has been an exciting period of action! Oberream throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Pinksy sees it coming and avoids it easily. Pinksy throws a nice looking combination but Oberream bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Pinksy throws a series of punches but Oberream avoids them all with ease. Drew Pinksy is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Pinksy counters with a lovely straight right hand! Pinksy ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Oberream shoots in for a takedown but Pinksy shows good takedown defense. Nice uppercut there from Pinksy. Pinksy throws a right and a left that both miss. A jab from Pinksy does it's job there. Oberream throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Oberream tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Pinksy lands a right hook to the body.

Oberream doesn't seem phased though. Oberream is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Pinksy. Pinksy lands with a hook. Oberream tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Pinksy lands a jab-cross combination. Drew Pinksy is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Oberream throws a sloppy body shot

That's two minutes gone in the round. Oberream gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Oberream moves in looking to clinch but Pinksy pushes him off. Pinksy misses with an uppercut. Oberream saw that one coming. Pinksy lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Pinksy. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Oberream thuds a left hand into Pinksy's body. Oberream jabbing away but nothing is landing. Oberream lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Pinksy has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. A short right from Oberream. Pinksy working hard to break the clinch. Pinksy lands an elbow that stopped Oberream in his tracks for a moment. Pinksy wants to break free but Oberream has control.

and Pinksy counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Oberream missing with a left hand there. Pinksy was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Oberream dives in and grabs Pinksy's left leg, looking for a takedown. Pinksy pushes down on Oberream's head and hops out. Oberream throws a sloppy body shot
and Pinksy counters with a one-two to the body. Oberream on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Oberream steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Pinksy. Oberream closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Oberream working the ground and pound. Oberream wants to control but Pinksy is keeping him busy. Pinksy defending against the ground and pound. Oberream lands an elbow. Pinksy tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Oberream wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Oberream working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Pinksy regains half guard there - taking advantage of Oberream's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pinksy avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Oberream slips nicely into half guard. Oberream seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Pinksy does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Oberream seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Oberream sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Pinksy defending well though. Alistar Oberream has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Oberream thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Pinksy keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Oberream scoring with strikes to the body and head. Oberream performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Pinksy won't allow Oberream to pass to mount. Pinksy blocking the ground and pound attempt from Oberream.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Oberream not landing any meaningful shots this time. Oberream throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Oberream closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Pinksy to the mat! Pinksy manages to get full guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Oberream with a flurry of punches that miss. Pinksy is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Oberream throws a big right hand that misses. Oberream postures up in Pinksy's guard and throws a big left but Pinksy blocks it. Oberream is looking to work some ground and pound but Pinksy has wrist control. Oberream throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Pinksy works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Oberream is looking to work some ground and pound but Pinksy has wrist control. Drew Pinksy is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Oberream sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Pinksy's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Alistar Oberream comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Pinksy has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
