Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Manuel Eduardo Calderon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Riel Adalin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Manuel Eduardo Calderon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Riel Adalin! The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Marco Blurström and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Calderon gets the takedown into side control. Calderon wants to lay and pray for a moment but Adalin keeps working. Calderon tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Adalin wants to control but Calderon postures up. Adalin tries to get back to half guard but can't. Adalin pushes Calderon away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Calderon gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Calderon looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Calderon is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Adalin is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Adalin tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Calderon wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Calderon looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Calderon decides to take the fight back to the feet. Calderon scores a takedown into full mount! Calderon is breathing heavily. Adalin wants to control but Calderon is having none of it. Adalin is working to get back to half guard.
Calderon jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Adalin is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Adalin and Calderon has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Calderon looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Adalin is looking to reverse the position. Calderon working the ground and pound but Adalin is defending the strikes. Adalin sneaks out the side door and pushes Calderon away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Adalin shoots for a double leg takedown but Calderon sprawls well. He's pushed Adalin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Adalin rushes Calderon and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Adalin is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Calderon wants a takedown but no success here.
Adalin ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Adalin no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Adalin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Calderon gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Calderon won't allow Adalin to sweep him here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Calderon passes Adalin's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Calderon is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Calderon prevents Adalin from improving his position. Calderon seems to be looking for submissions.
Adalin wants to improve his position but Calderon is controlling well.
Adalin wants to get back to his feet. Adalin has hold of Calderon's hands but Calderon slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Calderon connects with a nice short shot to Adalin's temple. Adalin keeping control of the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Manuel Eduardo Calderon dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Calderon gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Adalin counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Adalin. Adalin is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Calderon is looking for a triangle but Adalin pushes his legs off easily.
Adalin stands and steps away. Calderon gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Adalin closes the distance and lands a one-two. Adalin looks to land a combination. Calderon sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Manuel Eduardo Calderon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Calderon throws a left and a right that both miss
and Adalin counters with a shoot takedown. Calderon fights it but they end up in guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Calderon is looking for a triangle here but Adalin uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round. Adalin wants to control but Calderon is keeping him busy. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Adalin misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Calderon is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Adalin is controlling him well. Adalin decides to stand up, so the ref orders Calderon to his feet. Calderon fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Adalin defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Calderon. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Manuel Eduardo Calderon. That's going to take a lot out of him. Adalin gets in close and instigates a clinch. Calderon has picked Adalin up - he's going for a ride! Calderon dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Adalin looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Calderon is looking to take a break and control but Adalin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Adalin kicks off Calderon and gets to his feet. Adalin misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Calderon tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Adalin swivels and escapes. Calderon tries to close the distance and clinch but Adalin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Calderon gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Calderon working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Adalin has passed into half guard!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Adalin is looking to stall here but Calderon recovers full guard. Adalin in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Adalin trying to control but Calderon is working from the bottom. Calderon working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Adalin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Calderon is tightening it up a little... Adalin has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Adalin reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Adalin taps out! nice BJJ there by Calderon!
