PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Quick Fist (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Caleb Nitsch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Nitsch's choice of entrance music: My Time Is Now. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Quick Fist!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Caleb Nitsch!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Joseph Jones and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fist stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Nitsch closes the distance and clinches.
Nitsch keeps control of Fist as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Nitsch pulls Fist into guard.

Fist drops back looking for a leg! Nitsch is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Nitsch manages to kick Fist off! Fist jumps back into Nitsch's guard.
Nitsch is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Fist wants to stand but Nitsch is controlling his posture from full guard.
Fist trying to control but Nitsch is working from the bottom.
Fist won't allow Nitsch to get back to his feet.
Nitsch not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Nitsch working for a triangle but Fist defends it easily.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Nitsch takes the fight into the clinch.

Nitsch has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Fist regains guard immediately.
Fist controls Nitsch momentarily but Nitsch frees himself.
Fist has a closed guard, preventing Nitsch from standing up.
Fist is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Nitsch stopping the sweep attempt from Fist.

Fist is looking to stand up but Nitsch isn't so interested in that idea.
Fist keeping moving, preventing Nitsch from controlling successfully.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Nitsch looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Fist!
Fist blocking the ground and pound.
Nitsch landing strikes from the mount.
Fist wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Fist is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

Nitsch controlling the position well here. Fist rolled but Nitsch kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Nitsch looks gassed!
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Nitsch's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Nitsch is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Fist trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Nitsch doesn't have the hooks in and Fist manages to turn into his guard.

Fist gets to his feet. Nitsch looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Fist gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Nitsch holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Nitsch slows down the pace here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fist tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Nitsch breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Nitsch drives through and clinches with Fist against the cage.
Nitsch avoiding damage.

Nitsch breaks the clinch.
Fist misses with a takedown attempt
and Nitsch counters with a slapping leg kick.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Quick Fist. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fist has his takedown stuffed

and Nitsch counters with a single leg into guard. Fist didn't expect that.

Fist is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Nitsch frees his head nicely. Oh but Fist has switched to an armbar! Nitsch is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
