Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sheldon Cooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Sanderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cooper kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is L'Chaim To Life). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sheldon Cooper! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Michael Sanderson! The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Roosa Järviläinen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cooper moves out of range as Sanderson strikes. Cooper dodges the punch combination from Sanderson.
Nice defenses there by Cooper. Sanderson tries to bum rush Cooper with a series of wild strikes but Cooper uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Michael Sanderson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cooper slips a jab and a cross from Sanderson.
Cooper shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sanderson as he jumps to the side. Cooper tries for a takedown but Sanderson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. A combination from Sanderson does no damage. Cooper fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sheldon Cooper. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sanderson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Cooper avoids the body shot from Sanderson.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sanderson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Cooper dodges the punch combination from Sanderson.
Sanderson throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Cooper avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Sanderson throws a right hand that Cooper ducks under and follows up with a left that Cooper also avoids with ease. Cooper gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Sanderson to score an easy takedown into full guard. Cooper is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sanderson defends well. Cooper is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sanderson sitting in guard, not really doing much. Sanderson throwing strikes from guard but Cooper blocks nicely. Sanderson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cooper is on top in guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Cooper is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Sanderson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cooper. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Cooper controlling the action here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Sanderson wants to control but Cooper is keeping busy and won't allow it. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Cooper is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Sanderson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Sanderson trying to control the position from guard on top but Cooper is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sanderson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Cooper kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Sanderson throws a big right hand that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Sanderson's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Sanderson trying to control but Cooper is working from the bottom. Cooper is trying to keep Sanderson in close.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Cooper with a poor takedown and Sanderson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Cooper's guard. Cooper really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Cooper bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sanderson's guard. Cooper drops back, looking for a kneebar! Sanderson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Sanderson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Sanderson!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cooper on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Cooper tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Sanderson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Cooper managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Sanderson.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Sanderson is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Cooper takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sanderson is trying to ground and pound but Cooper uses the momentary lack of control by Sanderson to regain half guard. Sanderson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cooper keeps working. Sanderson sitting and controlling from the half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Sanderson throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Cooper trying to hold on to Sanderson's head to control him but Sanderson postures up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Sanderson looks to throw the jab but Cooper is out of range. Sanderson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Sanderson misses the shot to the body. Sanderson swinging wildly here.
Cooper gets the takedown into side control. Cooper is looking to take a break and control but Sanderson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

And that's the end of the fight! Michael Sanderson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Sanderson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
