Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pedro Mantiega (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobcat Apocalypse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mantiega comes to the cage accompanied by Gimme Shelter. Pedro Mantiega has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bobcat Apocalypse!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Apocalypse takes a swing at Mantiega's ribcage but misses.
Apocalypse tries to clinch up but Mantiega circles away and keeps his distance.
Apocalypse tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
A head kick misses from Mantiega.
Mantiega swats away the attempt to clinch by Apocalypse.
Mantiega fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Apocalypse fails with an attempt to clinch.
Mantiega throws a combination. Apocalypse tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Mantiega fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Apocalypse on the side of the head.
Apocalypse swinging wildly here.
Mantiega keeps the fight on the outside.
Apocalypse tries to close the distance and clinch but Mantiega swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Apocalypse misses with a combination
and Mantiega counters with a straight right hand.
Apocalypse swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Mantiega makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
A jab from Apocalypse misses.
Apocalypse wants to clinch
and Mantiega counters with a nice body shot.

Apocalypse wants to clinch but Mantiega slips to the side
and Mantiega connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Mantiega comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
No joy there for Apocalypse, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Apocalypse tries to clinch
and Mantiega counters with a body kick that stops Apocalypse in his tracks momentarily.
Bobcat Apocalypse seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Mantiega, right into the meat.
Apocalypse stuffs the takedown.
Apocalypse wants to clinch
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Apocalypse wants to clinch but Mantiega slips to the side
and Mantiega counters with a nice body shot.
A left lands for Mantiega.

Mantiega shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Apocalypse's guard.
Mantiega wants to control from the top but Apocalypse keeps moving.
Apocalypse has his hands on Mantiega's head, controlling the position.
Apocalypse really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mantiega. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Mantiega wants to control from the top but Apocalypse keeps moving.
Mantiega looking to pass the guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mantiega is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Apocalypse is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Apocalypse has escaped and now he's on top!

Apocalypse got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mantiega has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Apocalypse has managed to get both his arms back between Mantiega's legs - danger averted.

Mantiega is trying to control the position but Apocalypse postures up.

Mantiega works his way to full guard. Good work.

Apocalypse got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mantiega has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Apocalypse has managed to get both his arms back between Mantiega's legs - danger averted.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Apocalypse trying to control but Mantiega is working from the bottom.
Mantiega wants to sweep here but Apocalypse controlling him for the moment.

Mantiega working for a triangle but Apocalypse defends it easily.
Apocalypse is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Apocalypse tries to clinch but Mantiega moves away
and Apocalypse takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Apocalypse is looking to clinch.

Mantiega scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Apocalypse is looking to improve his position.
Mantiega trying to control from half guard but Apocalypse is working away.
Mantiega uses his free foot to push down on Apocalypse's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Apocalypse.

Mantiega moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Apocalypse has worked his arm free - good work by Apocalypse!

Mantiega tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Mantiega happy to just control the position for now.

Mantiega looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Mantiega wants to control for a moment but Apocalypse uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
Mantiega wants to take a breather but Apocalypse is having none of it.

Mantiega is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Apocalypse has managed to free his arm - good work.
Mantiega is pressing down on Apocalypse's thigh, looking to free his foot. Apocalypse is holding on for now.

Apocalypse is looking for a sweep. Mantiega is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Mantiega is looking to advance position but Apocalypse won't allow it.
Apocalypse is refusing to be controlled, as Mantiega sits in half guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Mantiega throws a leg kick but Apocalypse moved away.
Apocalypse wants to clinch
and Mantiega counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Apocalypse will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Apocalypse tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Mantiega counters with a nice uppercut.
Apocalypse throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Mantiega counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Mantiega fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Apocalypse sprawls well initially but Mantiega persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Mantiega stalling away here and it's allowed Apocalypse to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Mantiega controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Mantiega trying to control the position from guard on top but Apocalypse is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mantiega throws a big right hand that misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pedro Mantiega dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Mantiega paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Apocalypse throws a lazy head kick

and Mantiega counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Mantiega is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Mantiega has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Apocalypse defend it? Mantiega steps over the head and cranks it - Apocalypse is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Mantiega!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:20 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Pedro Mantiega!
