2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Panos Rasgadus! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Peter Parker! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Igor Prikhodko and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rasgadus drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Parker is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Rasgadus is controlling him well. Rasgadus is trying to get an arm triangle but Parker is defending well. Parker sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Rasgadus trying to pass the guard but Parker defending well. Rasgadus is working hard here to advance position. Rasgadus moves nicely into side control. Rasgadus is trying to get an arm triangle but Parker is defending well. Rasgadus tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rasgadus has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Rasgadus tries to move into full mount but can't pass Parker's legs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rasgadus passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Parker! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rasgadus goes for an armbar but Parker turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Parker. Parker wants to stand but Rasgadus has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Parker stopping the sweep attempt from Rasgadus. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Parker wants to control from the top but Rasgadus keeps moving. Parker throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rasgadus works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Parker stopping the sweep attempt from Rasgadus. Parker throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Parker advances position into side control! Rasgadus tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Parker misses with a takedown attempt and Rasgadus counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Rasgadus passes the guard and advances to mount! Parker is trying to stand up. Rasgadus is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Parker is in real trouble.
Rasgadus has got one arm under Parker's chin. This could be trouble... Parker trying to control the other hand but Rasgadus gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Parker has tapped out! The fight is over!
