Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gabe Shade (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Justin Mayhem (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mayhem loads up on a big right hand but Shade slips the punch.
Shade keeps the fight on the outside.
Justin Mayhem seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mayhem fails with an attempt to clinch.
Shade lands with a nice combination. Mayhem backs away looking to recover.
Shade ducks under a wild hook from Mayhem.

Shade tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Mayhem is able to avoid easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Shade looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Mayhem wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Shade manages to pass to side control.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Shade wants to control from the top but Mayhem keeps moving.
Mayhem is looking to stand up but Shade isn't so interested in that idea.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mayhem is on top in guard.

The fighters circling - Shade throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Justin Mayhem is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Mayhem gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Shade to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Mayhem wants to get back to his feet but Shade is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mayhem lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Shade!

Mayhem cracks Shade with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Mayhem is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Mayhem seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Shade does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Shade makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Shade.
Mayhem trying to control the position from guard on top but Shade is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mayhem thows a big elbow that misses.
Shade is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Mayhem is in close to Shade's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Mayhem controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Shade is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Mayhem not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

That was a close second round but I would say that Gabe Shade will probably get the nod.

Mayhem is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Shade is landing with some decent strikes but Mayhem is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Shade throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Shade prevents Mayhem from getting the reversal.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Shade, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
