Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jon Lawal! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, George Jefferson! The judges for this bout are , and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jefferson pushes Lawal up against the cage in a clinch. Jefferson lands a left hand that snaps the head of Lawal backwards.
It looks like Jon Lawal has been cut. Knees in the clinch landing for Jefferson.
Jefferson comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Jefferson manages to pull guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jefferson looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Lawal looking to sit in guard and control but Jefferson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jefferson seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Let's hope that Jefferson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Lawal wants to sweep but no luck.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Lawal controls Jefferson momentarily but Jefferson frees himself. Jefferson working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Jefferson forces his way into half guard. Jefferson passes into side control, despite Lawal's attempt to control the position.
Lawal is working to avoid the ground and pound but Jefferson connects with a decent elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lawal seems a little lost for a moment, as Jefferson dominates the positioning. Jefferson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lawal knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Jefferson in side control, just content to control the action for now. Jefferson decides to stand back up. Jefferson steps back and let's Lawal get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lawal shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jefferson sprawls well. Jefferson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Lawal gets slowly back to his feet. The fight moves into the clinch position. Jefferson lands an elbow inside. A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Jefferson comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Nice elbow from Jefferson.
Jon Lawal's cut is getting worse. Jefferson landing knees to the head.
Lawal is breathing heavily. Jefferson connects with a nasty looking knee right to Lawal's face.

Jefferson lands a damaging elbow. Jefferson jumps into guard, dragging Lawal to the mat.
Lawal has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Jefferson is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jefferson successfully pulls guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jefferson pulls Lawal in to control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
George Jefferson dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jon Lawal's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Jefferson tries to clinch but Lawal moves out of range. Lawal leaves Jefferson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Jefferson is looking to clinch but Lawal is avoiding it.
Lawal shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jefferson as he avoids it easily. Jefferson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lawal paws at him with a jab and circles away. Jefferson fails in his attempt to clinch. Jefferson avoids the head kick by Lawal.
Lawal throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jefferson's waist but Jefferson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lawal off to one side. Jon Lawal is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Lawal tries to clinch but fails miserably and Jefferson counters by clinching up. Jefferson jumps guard and drags Lawal to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jefferson is on top in guard.
Jefferson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Jefferson is pushing down on Lawal's leg trying to pass to half guard. Lawal is fighting to maintain full guard but Jefferson has managed to sneak the leg through. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lawal with the active half guard here but Jefferson passes nicely into side control. Lawal is trying to work for a sweep but Jefferson has mounted him! Jefferson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Lawal can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Jefferson controlling the position easily from mount. Lawal in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A nice elbow there by Jefferson. Jefferson content just to control the position here. Jefferson takes Lawal's back. Jefferson connects with a big shot to the side of Lawal's head.
Jefferson slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Jefferson sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Lawal taps out!
