Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Ford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Koscheck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ryan Ford! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Josh Koscheck ! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Bruno Hogan and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ford closes this distance looking for a takedown but Koscheck circles away. Koscheck lands with a kick to the temple. Ford shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Ford is rocked!
It looks like Ryan Ford has been cut. Koscheck drives through and clinches with Ford against the cage.
Oh Ford is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Koscheck has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Ford regains guard immediately. Koscheck wants to pass the guard but Ford is keeping the position. Ford will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Ford seems to have got his legs back now. Koscheck really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ford. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Ford escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Koscheck gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Koscheck trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Ford trying to control the position.
Ford punching from the bottom - just letting Koscheck know he's still in a fight. Ford is trying to keep Koscheck in close.
Koscheck won't allow Ford to sweep him here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ford keeping moving, preventing Koscheck from controlling successfully. Koscheck is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Koscheck preventing the sweep. Ford is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Koscheck is in trouble now - Ford has advanced to mount! Koscheck can't escape the position.
Koscheck is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Ford blocks Koscheck 's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Ford lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Ford trying to control but Koscheck is having none of it. Ford unloads with some shots from mount but Koscheck bucks and avoids them well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Ford landing strikes, looking to finish! Ford lands a big shot there that rocks Koscheck but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Koscheck gets back to half guard. Koscheck is holding on to half guard well. Koscheck is trying to stand.
Ford prevents Koscheck from improving his position. Ford is tying to control. Koscheck wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Ford takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Ford is breathing heavily. Ford is keen to just control but Koscheck is a slippery customer. Koscheck is trying to maintain the position but Ford is very close to passing his half guard. Koscheck is looking to improve his position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Koscheck doesn't succeed with the takedown and Ford counters with a nice double leg into guard. Koscheck utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ford distracts Koscheck with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Koscheck not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Ford working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Koscheck working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ford doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ford manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Koscheck controls Ford momentarily but Ford frees himself. Koscheck is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Koscheck trying to control the position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Koscheck feints and as Ford raises his hands in defense, Koscheck changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Koscheck sitting in guard here, content to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ford wants to sweep but no luck. Koscheck trying to control the position from guard on top but Ford is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Koscheck missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Ford keeping moving, preventing Koscheck from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Koscheck not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Ford might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Ford is trying to keep Koscheck in close.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ford is on top in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Ryan Ford will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Ryan Ford's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Ford looks to clinch and Koscheck counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Ford! Koscheck sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Ford tries to control the position but Koscheck now has his back.

What can Ford do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Oooh a big shot gets through from Koscheck . Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Koscheck controlling well, preventing Ford from escaping the position.
Koscheck has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Ford rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ford is trying to get back to full guard. Ford is in trouble now - Koscheck has advanced to mount! Koscheck gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Koscheck closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Koscheck is pressed up against the cage. Ford has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Koscheck down to the mat. Koscheck avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Ford wants to clinch and Koscheck counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Ford! Ford slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Ford has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Koscheck wants to control but Ford is keeping him busy. Ford is looking to improve his position.

Koscheck takes the fight into the clinch. Koscheck manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. This has been an exciting period of action! Koscheck wants to sweep but no luck. Koscheck is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Koscheck is edging up against the cage. Josh Koscheck showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Ryan Ford's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Koscheck works over Ford's head and body with a nice combination. Koscheck shoots in and bounces Ford off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Koscheck is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Koscheck postures up.
Koscheck stands and throws Ford's legs to the side, diving into side control. Ford is trying to get back to half guard. Ford regains half guard. Ford trying to control from the bottom.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Ford is trying to get back to full guard. Ford has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Koscheck is working away from the top position though. Ford moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Ryan Ford showed his dominance in that final round. I think Ford has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
