Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cameron Dollar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Juan Gilberto! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Lou da Vinci and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gilberto swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Gilberto keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Cameron Dollar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gilberto throws a series of punches but Dollar moves out of range. Gilberto throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Dollar tries for a takedown but Gilberto sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Gilberto swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Dollar shoots for a double leg takedown but Gilberto sprawls well. He's pushed Dollar's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Dollar shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gilberto pinned against the cage. Gilberto gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Dollar scores a takedown into full mount! Dollar wants to finish this one by submission but Gilberto is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Dollar. Dollar trying to control but Gilberto is having none of it.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Dollar trying to control but Gilberto is having none of it. Dollar is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Gilberto to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Gilberto shrugs it off. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Gilberto wants to try and get back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Juan Gilberto dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Gilberto throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dollar. Gilberto fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Dollar looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Dollar showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Gilberto.
Dollar dives in and grabs Gilberto's left leg, looking for a takedown. Gilberto pushes down on Dollar's head and hops out. Gilberto rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dollar moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Nice takedown defense from Gilberto. No joy for Dollar on that attempt. and Gilberto counters with a left and a right that stings Dollar. Left hook, right uppercut from Dollar.

and Gilberto counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Gilberto throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Dollar counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Gilberto! Gilberto wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Dollar.
Gilberto is squirming around, avoiding Dollar's attempts to control the action. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dollar punching from mount but Gilberto doing a good job of avoiding damage. Dollar fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Dollar trying to control but Gilberto is having none of it. Gilberto really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dollar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Dollar controlling his opponent.

He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Gilberto tries to hold on but Dollar postures up. Dollar trying to control but he's not successful this time. Gilberto blocking the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Gilberto holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Dollar tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Dollar fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Gilberto is out of range. Dollar tries for a takedown but Gilberto sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Gilberto lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Gilberto. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Dollar misses with a takedown and Gilberto counters with a one-two to the body.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Cameron Dollar. I think Dollar has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
