Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Oleg Vasiliev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddie Valasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vasiliev comes to the cage accompanied by Hate me now. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eddie Valasquez!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valasquez throws a one two combo.


It looks like Oleg Vasiliev has been cut.
Valasquez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Vasiliev fails with a takedown attempt.
Valasquez throws a nice looking combination but Vasiliev bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Vasiliev throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Valasquez's waist but Valasquez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Vasiliev off to one side.
Valasquez throws an overhand right that lands on Vasiliev's shoulder, as Vasiliev tries to avoid the shot.
Valasquez waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Vasiliev.
Vasiliev will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Valasquez throws a series of punches but Vasiliev avoids them all with ease.
Valasquez lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Valasquez displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Vasiliev.
Valasquez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Valasquez lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Vasiliev backs up against the cage.
Vasiliev is trying hard to land a takedown here. Valasquez sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Vasiliev moves away from the strike by Valasquez.

Vasiliev is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Vasiliev wants to control from the top but Valasquez keeps moving.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Vasiliev accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Vasiliev sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Valasquez's guard.
Valasquez wants to control but Vasiliev is keeping busy.
Valasquez looks gassed!
Vasiliev throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Vasiliev wants to take a breather but Valasquez is having none of it.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Vasiliev is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Vasiliev passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Valasquez!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Vasiliev is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Valasquez can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

No joy there for Valasquez, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Vasiliev shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Valasquez defends it nicely.
Vasiliev tries to score a power double leg takedown but Valasquez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Vasiliev somewhat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Valasquez throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Valasquez throws out a loose jab but Vasiliev uses good head movement to avoid it.

Vasiliev looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Vasiliev is keen to just control but Valasquez is a slippery customer.

Vasiliev is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Valasquez is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
