Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between uki nam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Rawles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). uki nam could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Josh Rawles's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, uki nam! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Josh Rawles! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rawles scores a takedown into full mount! Rawles prevents nam from getting the reversal. nam wants to hold on but Rawles pushes him away. nam might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Rawles has his opponent pinned against the ropes, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of nam's face.
Rawles is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. nam tries to get back to half guard but can't. nam is working hard here to advance position. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Rawles cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if nam tries to get out of the position. A nice elbow there by Rawles. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rawles breaks from nam's wrist control and lands an elbow. nam is bucking up trying to escape but Rawles cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Rawles lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. nam bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Rawles is looking to stand up but nam isn't so interested in that idea. nam throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rawles works some decent striking defense from the bottom. nam won't allow Rawles to get back to his feet. Rawles looks gassed! Rawles looking to sweep here. No luck so far. nam wants to stand and escape but instead Rawles has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. nam is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Rawles passes into half guard. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
That's two minutes gone in the round. nam taking some punishment here, with Rawles in his half guard. Rawles is nestled in close to nam, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. nam trying to control here.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Rawles looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. nam looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Rawles lands strikes from half guard. Rawles lands with a punch from half guard. Rawles scoring with strikes to the body and head. Rawles works his way into side control. Rawles tries to move to mount but nam blocks the move with his legs. nam takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Rawles in side control lands a decent elbow. Rawles working the body and head with strikes. Rawles is chipping away with strikes.
nam sneaks back into half guard. nam gets full guard. nam bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rawles's guard. Rawles is looking to stand up but nam isn't so interested in that idea. Rawles is working an open guard so nam takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Rawles scores with a sloppy right hand. nam should have avoided that one.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rawles feints and as nam raises his hands in defense, Rawles changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Rawles tries to free his leg and advance position but nam is retaining full guard. nam avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. nam is pulling down on Rawles's head. It's preventing any offense from Rawles, at least for the moment. Rawles cracks nam with a solid left hand. Rawles postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. nam has his foot on Rawles's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rawles works his way back into a safe position though. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. nam is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rawles defends well.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Rawles moves in looking to clinch but nam pushes him off. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Josh Rawles dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rawles tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but nam paws at him with a jab and circles away. Rawles shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as nam sprawls well. nam wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rawles gets slowly back to his feet. uki nam is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Rawles looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Rawles with a nice head shot there. Rawles lands a couple of decent looking shots. Rawles keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of nam's head. Rawles works over nam with some ground and pound from guard. Rawles working some strikes from top position. nam wants to sweep but no luck. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Rawles is working nam over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Rawles has momentary wrist control but nam slips an elbow through the middle. nam postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rawles is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of nam, into his guard. nam wants to sweep here but Rawles controlling him for the moment. Rawles is in close to nam's body, working some short punches and elbows. nam keeping full guard, as Rawles tries to pass. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Josh Rawles showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Rawles checks a leg kick nicely. nam tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Rawles looks to land a combination but nam avoids it well. Josh Rawles seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. nam avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and nam wants it to stay on the feet. and nam counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by nam. uki nam has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. nam prevents Rawles from getting back to his feet. nam postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. nam trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Rawles is looking to stand up but nam isn't so interested in that idea. Rawles is trying to keep nam in close.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Rawles bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. nam is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Rawles's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Rawles working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. nam gets back to full guard.

Rawles closes the distance looking to clinch and nam counters with a takedown into side control. Rawles pushes nam away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, nam gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. nam misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Rawles wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! nam working the head with strikes. You can see the frustration on Rawles's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. nam working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Rawles lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
And that's the end of the fight! uki nam showed his dominance in that final round. I think Rawles has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
