Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Blagg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nathan Blagg! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sean Thomas! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, John Kavanagh and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Blagg gets caught flat footed, as Thomas shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Blagg working for a triangle but Thomas defends it easily.
Blagg had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Thomas defends it easily. Blagg keeping moving, preventing Thomas from controlling successfully. Blagg is trying to keep Thomas in close.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Thomas wants to stand but Blagg has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Thomas wants to control from the top but Blagg keeps moving. Blagg knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Thomas on the ground. Blagg had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Thomas defends it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thomas trying to control but Blagg is working from the bottom.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Thomas scores with a takedown into Blagg's guard. Thomas stands up from Blagg's guard - Thomas perhaps looking for a knockout. Thomas avoids the head kick by Blagg.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Thomas wants to control but Blagg is keeping him busy. Blagg looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Thomas is pressing down on Blagg's thigh, looking to free his foot. Blagg is holding on for now. Thomas throwing shots but Blagg is blocking nicely. Thomas is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Thomas is trying to control the action in half guard but Blagg is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Blagg is trying to control but can't.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Blagg shoots in and bounces Thomas off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Blagg is breathing heavily. Thomas looking to hit a scissor sweep but Blagg is one step ahead there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Thomas is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Thomas manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Blagg tries to reverse the position but Thomas maintains control. Thomas can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Blagg is looking to escape. Blagg is desperately trying to improve his position but Thomas has a good base and remains in mount. Blagg is bucking up trying to escape but Thomas cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Thomas pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sean Thomas dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Thomas misses with a takedown and Blagg counters with a nice double leg into side control. Thomas won't be happy with that. Thomas can't do much from the bottom here. Thomas regains half guard. Blagg is working for a submission of some sort.
Blagg is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Blagg is looking for a kimura here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thomas is doing well to control the position and prevent Blagg from advancing to side control. Thomas gets full guard. Thomas scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Thomas lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Thomas gets the takedown into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Blagg struggling a bit here. Thomas gets to mount! Blagg was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Thomas trying to control but Blagg is having none of it. Blagg is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Thomas prevents Blagg from getting the reversal. Thomas manages to capitalize on a mistake by Blagg to take his back! Thomas has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Sean Thomas has got the better of the ground game so far. Blagg tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Thomas looking to control but Blagg is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Blagg is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Blagg sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Thomas seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Thomas controlling the pace. Blagg is refusing to be controlled, as Thomas sits in half guard.

Blagg is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Thomas is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Thomas has escaped and now he's on top! Thomas trying to control the position from guard on top but Blagg is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sean Thomas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Blagg's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Thomas wants to clinch but Blagg slips to the side and Blagg counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Thomas! Blagg trying to control but he's not successful this time. Blagg looking to secure an arm triangle but Thomas defends it well. Thomas is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Thomas sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Thomas makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Thomas. Blagg trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Blagg stops Thomas from standing up.

Blagg drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Thomas manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Blagg has Thomas in his guard. That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Blagg is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Thomas defends well. Blagg throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Thomas escapes and throws Blagg's legs to the side, diving into side control! Thomas wants to lay and pray for a moment but Blagg keeps working. Nathan Blagg has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Blagg tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Thomas wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Nathan Blagg. Well Thomas has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality.
