Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between MIKE CROCOP (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Azamat Kourbanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Azamat Kourbanov! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Dmitry Maklakov and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kourbanov shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. CROCOP is trying to defend but Kourbanov finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Kourbanov throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. CROCOP blocking the ground and pound attempt from Kourbanov. CROCOP keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Kourbanov thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Kourbanov throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. CROCOP throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. CROCOP lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

CROCOP is looking to slow Kourbanov down with leg kicks. CROCOP looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. CROCOP fakes the leg kick and cracks Kourbanov in the body. MIKE CROCOP seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. CROCOP throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. CROCOP throws a front kick that sends Kourbanov stumbling back into the cage. CROCOP tries to land a front kick but Kourbanov steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. CROCOP with a nice cross. Kourbanov doesn't manage to clinch there - CROCOP circles away.

CROCOP wants to slow Kourbanov down by chopping away at his legs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Kourbanov moves out of range of the body kick. Kourbanov drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Kourbanov throwing strikes from guard but CROCOP blocks nicely. Kourbanov throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as CROCOP works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Kourbanov working some strikes from top position. Kourbanov chips away with some ground and pound. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kourbanov stands up over CROCOP, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Kourbanov throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as CROCOP works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Kourbanov throwing strikes from guard but CROCOP blocks nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
MIKE CROCOP dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Kourbanov scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Kourbanov is trying to ground and pound but CROCOP uses the momentary lack of control by Kourbanov to regain half guard. Kourbanov thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed CROCOP's head. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kourbanov is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! CROCOP could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. CROCOP wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Kourbanov.

Kourbanov seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Kourbanov is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. CROCOP is aware though and is defending well.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Kourbanov unloading with bombs! Kourbanov looking to ground and pound but CROCOP is blocking nicely. CROCOP wants to try and get back to his feet. Kourbanov is in the full mount, landing strikes. Kourbanov postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. CROCOP looks a forlorn figure.
