Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Richard Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tapp Kone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kone comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Kummelit - Tuomiopäivä kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Richard Jenkins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tapp Kone! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Roosa Järviläinen and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kone lands with an uppercut that bounces Jenkins off the cage and back into rage. Kone throws a big shot that misses. Kone slaps away a takedown attempt from Jenkins, before circling back to the center of the mat. Kone lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Tapp Kone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kone tests Jenkins's chin there with a solid looking shot. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kone waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Jenkins. Kone has his takedown stuffed and Jenkins counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Jenkins stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kone swivels though and keeps the full guard. Jenkins prevents Kone from getting back to his feet. Jenkins slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Jenkins is trying to get an arm triangle but Kone is defending well. Kone is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Kone gets back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jenkins is working for a kimura but Kone is defending it quite comfortably.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kone is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Jenkins passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Kone! Kone tries to hold on but Jenkins pushes him away. Jenkins is working for a guillotine from mount but Kone frees his head quite easily.
Jenkins is breathing heavily. Kone is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jenkins moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Kone has worked his arm free - good work by Kone!
Kone pushes Jenkins away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Jenkins gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Kone is trying to get back to half guard. Kone really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jenkins. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Jenkins has hold of Kone's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Kone seems comfortable defending it but Jenkins has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Kone is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Kone is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Jenkins couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Richard Jenkins!
