Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Keynes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Xavier Marceau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Keynes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Xavier Marceau! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Eliza Hachem and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marceau tries to bum rush Keynes with a series of wild strikes but Keynes uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Marceau misses with a jab, cross combination.
The fight stays on the outside here - Keynes looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Keynes feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Keynes looking to pass the guard. Keynes wants to control from the top but Marceau keeps moving. Keynes pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Marceau is keeping the position for now. Keynes controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Keynes advances to half guard. Marceau wants to get back to full guard. Keynes trying to pass the guard but Marceau defending well. Marceau flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Keynes is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Marceau throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Keynes is pressing down on Marceau's thigh, looking to free his foot. Marceau is holding on for now. The fighters are battling for position here. Marceau manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Marceau keeping moving, preventing Keynes from controlling successfully.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Marceau clobbers Keynes with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Xavier Marceau seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Marceau misses with a wild combination.
Keynes shoots in but Marceau avoids the takedown attempt easily. Marceau misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Marceau throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Keynes has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Keynes there as he acknowledges the shot.
It looks like John Keynes has been cut. Marceau tries to close the distance and clinch but Keynes swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Marceau throws a nice looking combination but Keynes bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Marceau looks gassed! Marceau lands a big head kick that sends Keynes to the canvas! Marceau follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Xavier Marceau!
