PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Milo Winner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Crispin ONeal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Winner comes into the arena with Fight Night blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Milo Winner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Crispin ONeal!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Winner shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as ONeal sprawls well. ONeal wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Winner gets slowly back to his feet.
ONeal lands a nice looking body shot.
ONeal swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Winner avoids a punch combination nicely.
Winner misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
ONeal misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Winner.
Winner walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
ONeal looks to land a left hand but Winner moved out of range nicely.
Winner walks into a straight right hand from ONeal.

That's one minute gone in the round.
ONeal throws a nice looking combination but Winner bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Crispin ONeal is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Winner tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but ONeal swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Milo Winner. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A big right from ONeal misses.

Winner shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches ONeal napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Winner goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, ONeal rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Winner's guard! Nice work there by ONeal!
ONeal wants to stand but Winner is controlling his posture from full guard.

Winner working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. ONeal doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. ONeal manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Winner looking for submissions from the bottom but instead ONeal passes into half guard.
Winner is trying to maintain the position but ONeal is very close to passing his half guard.
Winner is looking to get back to is feet but ONeal passes into side control.
ONeal staying calm.
Winner sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Winner trying to control but ONeal postures up.
Winner wants to control but ONeal passes into side.
Winner is looking to regain half guard here but ONeal keeps moving and retains side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Winner is trying to control ONeal's posture but ONeal avoids it.
Winner controls the position for a moment.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Winner sneaks back into half guard.

Winner looking for a kimura from the bottom but ONeal passes into side control!
Winner is looking for a sweep.
Winner is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
ONeal content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Winner looking for submissions off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Crispin ONeal dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


ONeal throws out a loose jab but Winner uses good head movement to avoid it.
Winner avoids the body shot from ONeal.
ONeal misses with a few strikes there.
Winner shoots for a double leg takedown but ONeal sprawls well. He's pushed Winner's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Winner dives in and grabs ONeal's left leg, looking for a takedown. ONeal pushes down on Winner's head and hops out.
Winner shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with ONeal but ONeal pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Milo Winner. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

ONeal drops Winner with a beautiful combination! Winner stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - ONeal is looking for the KO!


It looks like Milo Winner has been cut.
ONeal looks to land a right hand but Winner moved out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Winner fails with the takedown.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
ONeal ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Winner's jaw. Winner's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! ONeal does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:14 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Crispin ONeal!
