Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pat Marr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Valjean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marr comes to the cage accompanied by Rock You by Helix. Valjean has chosen Saftey dance as his entrance music. Pat Marr could well score a knockout today. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pat Marr! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jean Valjean! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marr throws a good cross that connects.
Valjean throws a head kick that misses. Marr shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Valjean manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Marr landing some decent shots from guard. Marr stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Valjean swivels though and keeps the full guard. Valjean manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Marr manages to get himself to full guard.
Marr wants to sweep but no luck. Marr is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Marr wants to free his trapped foot but Valjean is holding on for dear life with his legs. Valjean landing rabbit punches to the side of Marr's head. Not doing much damage but still scoring a few points. Marr thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Valjean's head. Valjean is trying to maintain the position but Marr is very close to passing his half guard. Valjean is trying to stand back up but Marr is controlling him
Valjean is in trouble now - Marr has advanced to mount! BOOM! Marr connects with a massive shot to the dome!
That's one minute gone in the round. Marr lands a nice shot to the head. Marr breaks from Valjean's wrist control and lands an elbow. Marr has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Valjean is rocked! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Marr working Valjean over with strikes here. Valjean is still in real trouble! Can Marr finish him? Valjean tries to lock up and control but Marr gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Marr looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Valjean covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
