Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jouni Puustinen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Glen Tyson! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Puustinen closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Tyson to the mat! Tyson manages to get full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tyson tries to land a sweep but no joy. Puustinen tries to free his leg and advance position but Tyson is retaining full guard. Puustinen prevents Tyson from getting back to his feet. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Puustinen trying to control but Tyson is working from the bottom. Puustinen is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Puustinen decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Tyson uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Puustinen has time to react. Tyson throws a series of punches but Puustinen avoids them all with ease. Tyson with a poor takedown and Puustinen counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Tyson's guard now. Puustinen is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Puustinen trying to control the position from guard on top but Tyson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Puustinen is pushing down on Tyson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Tyson is fighting to maintain full guard but Puustinen has managed to sneak the leg through. Puustinen is nestled in close to Tyson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Puustinen lands a nice short elbow. Tyson is looking to control Puustinen's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Tyson avoid being mounted? Tyson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Tyson. Puustinen preventing the sweep. Puustinen works a leg free and moves into half guard. Tyson moves into full guard.
Tyson looks gassed! Tyson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Tyson cracks Puustinen with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Tyson looking to finish Puustinen with some ground and pound. This is bad for Puustinen! The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Tyson cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The referee warns Puustinen that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tyson postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Puustinen looks a forlorn figure.
Tyson landing punches. Tyson trying to control but Puustinen is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tyson pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Tyson breaks from Puustinen's wrist control and lands an elbow. Tyson looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tyson working for a guillotine from mount but Puustinen is in no mood to give up. Puustinen is working to get back to half guard.

Puustinen is desperately trying to improve his position but Tyson has a good base and remains in mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Glen Tyson dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Tyson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Puustinen moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Tyson closes the distance and clinches. Puustinen prevents Tyson from breaking the clinch. Tyson wants to break free but Puustinen has control.

Tyson is looking to break free of the clinch but Puustinen has double underhooks. Tyson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Tyson is trying to force a seperation but Puustinen has the dominant position. A bit of stalling here from Puustinen.
Puustinen is trying to drag Tyson to the mat but Tyson just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Puustinen will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Tyson up against the cage. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Puustinen breaks the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tyson misses with a leg kick and Puustinen counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Tyson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tyson is on top in guard.
Puustinen has his foot on Tyson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Tyson works his way back into a safe position though. Puustinen keeping moving, preventing Tyson from controlling successfully. Tyson stands up over Puustinen, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. That's two minutes gone in the round. Puustinen utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Tyson slips nicely into half guard. Tyson decides to return to a standing position. Tyson dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Puustinen. That did some damage! Tyson falls off balance throwing a combination
and Puustinen counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Tyson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Puustinen wants to control but Tyson is keeping him busy. Puustinen throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Tyson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Tyson.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Tyson looks to land a combination but Puustinen avoids it well. Tyson misses with a wild body shot. Jouni Puustinen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Tyson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Puustinen swats him away and circles back towards the center. Tyson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Puustinen's waist but Puustinen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tyson off to one side. Glen Tyson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A looping hook to the body misses from Tyson. Puustinen does a little dance to reset his feet. The fight moves into the clinch position. Tyson looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Puustinen has clasped his hands together around Tyson's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Tyson takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tyson is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Puustinen trying to control the action but Tyson is working from the bottom. Tyson is trying to control but can't.
Puustinen thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Tyson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Puustinen stands up from guard. Let's bang! Tyson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Puustinen tries to avoid it but Tyson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Puustinen to the ground. Puustinen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Tyson with a lazy takedown attempt and Puustinen moves into the clinch. Jouni Puustinen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Glen Tyson. Puustinen has Tyson pressed against the cage.
Puustinen is working for takedown but Tyson is calmly controlling the position for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tyson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Puustinen misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Tyson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Puustinen is looking to reverse the position. Tyson throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Tyson working the ground and pound. Tyson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Puustinen keeps working. Tyson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Puustinen kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tyson stands up. Tyson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Puustinen counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Tyson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Tyson looking to control but Puustinen is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Tyson has control of Puustinen's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Puustinen regains control of the situation pretty easily.

And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Glen Tyson. I think Tyson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
