The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vinicius tries to move into range but Gismonti moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

It looks like Luiz Vinicius has been cut.
Gismonti misses with a few strikes there.
Gismonti tries to clinch but Vinicius moves out of range.
Gismonti rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Vinicius moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Gismonti defending well as Vinicius loads up on a big left hand.
Gismonti fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Vinicius manages to avoid it.

Gismonti gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Gismonti tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Vinicius paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Gismonti misses with a series of wild punches.
Gismonti throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Vinicius on the side of the head.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Vinicius.

That was a close round but I would say that Egberto Gismonti will probably get the nod.

Vinicius stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

and Vinicius decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Gismonti's guard.
Gismonti is looking to stand up but Vinicius isn't so interested in that idea.
Gismonti can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Vinicius controls the pace.
Gismonti knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Vinicius on the ground.

No joy there for Gismonti, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Vinicius takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Gismonti tries to bum rush Vinicius with a series of wild strikes but Vinicius uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Vinicius shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Gismonti sprawls well. Gismonti wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Vinicius gets slowly back to his feet.

Gismonti throws a nice looking combination but Vinicius bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Gismonti comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
